@RBReich Top 10% have $108 trillion, about 68%. They can cover any debt issue we might face; cuts to programs for the poor are unnecessary. Just a 1% net worth tax on them brings in $1 trillion/year, more than enough for the progressive wish list.

The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%.  That’s $80 trillion that would have gone into the paychecks of the working class. The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.

@RBReich The idea that there's been an "upward redistribution of wealth" falsely presumes a limited supply of wealth. There is not! But public-funds-leeching-millionaires like @RBReich need you to think that rich people are taking money from you. They are not!

The truck was parked around the corner by itself where nobody parks. I said no...and gave an excuse and he was polite. I felt creeped out. Now I feel guilty.

Every time Black Americans built their own self sufficient Towns & Cities. It was always attacked and sabotaged by "envious racist white mobs" from neighboring towns miles away. They could not stand to see a people, that had just freed themselves from slavery, $Prosper so fast.

@zellieimani Nearly no one says this. Your nearly certain to not live in poverty if only you: - Graduate high school. - Get and keep a job at the top of your skill level. - Don't have kids outside marriage.

If hard work made you rich, every Black woman working two jobs would be a millionaire.

@pcoastfool @zellieimani @Himjamin777 For sure. I'm not saying one can't get out of poverty having not accomplished all three (although the likelihood goes down considerably with each one). Rather, I'm saying that, if you do all three, you'll not likely live in poverty.

Pull yourself up by your bootstraps is not a plan. It’s a slogan used to blame poor people for being poor.
