The very real shift in athletes being against LGBTQ+ people is both sad and terrifying. These are the role models kids look up to. This is what can influence them to be bigoted, intolerant, and cruel. This is what drives people to stay in the closet, to hurt themselves, to feel alone. It's wicked, it's evil. Lamar Jackson, Clayton Kershaw, TreyVeon Henderson, Azareye'h Thomas, Jaden Ivey, all of them are advocating for discrimination, for hate, for bigotry. If you stand with people who hate queer people, then I stand directly opposed to you.

I just had a very disturbing Good Friday encounter with an ICE agent at the airport As I was going through security, an ICE agent asked me for my ID. I told him this isn’t Soviet Russia and that the only citizenship papers I planned to show him were the Declaration of Independence “Sir, I’m just asking for ID, not proof of citizenship,” he said. “Today is the anniversary of Jesus’s resurrection,” I replied. “He was an American. Would you have asked to see his papers too? Would the scars on his hands not have been enough for you?” He was stunned silent. I strode past him without showing my ID and went through the metal detector I received a standing ovation

It is nothing but misogyny. They actively prevented women from taking part in scientific research, from exploring even the known world, and instead of being able to tinker, we were forced into the domestic sphere and kept there. We have no idea what kind of achievements women might have been capable of, because they were never allowed to try. It is highly likely that, lacking the male capacity for violence, women could have helped to create a more peaceful world, had we been allowed to participate in building it.
