Your emotional state is literally an energy signal, and if you are working on optimizing your health, your energy should be prioritized. Dr. Joe Dispenza teaches us that low energy emotions: anger, fear, guilt, shame, lust are weaker, heavier, slow waveforms. These pull consciousness downward and are tied to survival modes.

Reviewed a @PMPressOrg book for hometown folks on bootleg coal in the ‘turbulent years’ of the Depression. Tl;dr “It offers fertile insight for the pursuit of a just transition in our own ‘turbulent years.’”

@cognazor The American Chestnut is also a good environmental history including this area. The topic is niche but you realize how foundational the species was.

Only part way through, but so far this book is excellent. An 'environmental history' of Southern Appalachia since the 1500s, but through a cultural perspective, i.e., how the different cultural groups shaped and were shaped by the land and each other
