New year = mental cleanup. Fewer notes. Fewer tabs. Clear priorities. Shipping what matters most. Building without burning out. Building body, family, and apps. 2026 will be my year. ๐Ÿฅณ

Before work could ask anything from me, I was already on the bike. It was cold, the road was quiet, and the first sun hit my face. As a dad with a 9 to 5 and side projects in the background, I need moments like this. How did your day start?

The work is not always the hardest part. Itโ€™s carrying all of it in my head at once. The app. The bug. The next feature. The marketing. My team. My family. My health. The house. The million small things in between. Sometimes the real exhaustion is not doing the work. Itโ€™s holding all the tabs open. ๐Ÿซ

@TimoBuilds_ Yes. The 16 y/o has time, energy, and zero dependents. Impressive? Sure. Harder? Not even close. Building at 30+ means stealing hours from sleep, lunch breaks, and the 20 minutes after kids are finally in bed. Work-life balance? Still looking for the 'life' part๐Ÿ˜…

16 y/o guys making $1,000 MRR. Respect. But Iโ€™m more impressed by people who keep building at 30+ with a job, a family, and zero time. That game is harder.

Crucial to convert those generated traffic is his landing page It's fully UI, UX and conversion optimized. Without this, it wouldn't be turned into that MRR But still, that's a great example how marketing in combination with a converting landing page could perform within days!

Be this guy > Spend 7 months developing a micro SAAS > Realize you have 0 users and you are building for nobody > Pause development and focus 100% on marketing > Week 1 you make $1,900 MRR Stop over engineering Commit yourself fully to marketing.

@CestIvan Tried Reddit again and went good. Up next I'll focus on pSEO and at some parts on Reddit What did you tried and worked for you?

@TimoBuilds_ That tension is real - bugs feel urgent, marketing feels optional. But going quiet loses the feedback that shapes better features. What was the marketing approach you tried before the bug spiral?

Building a business on the side is hard. I sit down to build, hit a bug, fix one thing, break another. Again. Again. Again. Then after days, I finally solve it. And suddenly I realize: that โ€œ1 hour a dayโ€ was my whole week. Thatโ€™s the part that hits hard. Because building is only half of it. I also need to market. Reply to people. Write posts. Share progress. Build in public. Do the stuff that actually gets me seen. So the next week goes into distribution instead of development. And just like that, progress feels slow. Very slow. Sometimes thatโ€™s frustrating. But Iโ€™m doing this next to a 9 to 5, leading a team, showing up for my family, taking care of the house, and trying not to neglect my own health. So maybe slow is just the price of building a real life and a real business at the same time. Still moving forward. And it's worth it. Some are playing video games, i keep building the future. But I donโ€™t forget myself.

[Day 194] building in public powered by movement Project: FocusMap .pro โœ… finally fixed AI roadmap generation with ideas by scraped URL โœ… ideas getting generated by scraped website data now โœ… polished UI of roadmap generation Was stuck in a loop yesterday. AI kept giving me the same broken output. 1) Switched models: auto โ†’ sonnet โ†’ codex 2) Added console-logs. 3) Then changed how I prompt: logs โ†’ prompt โ†’ logs โ†’ prompt That broke the loop. ๐ŸŽ‰ Sometimes itโ€™s not the bug. Itโ€™s how you talk to the machine. ๐Ÿšถ 5,722 steps walked ๐Ÿ”ฅ 266 calories burned Keep moving.

[Day 193] building in public powered by movement Project: FocusMap .pro โŒ AI roadmap generation still failing โŒ still getting sample data back โœ… added favicon preview for entered URLs One bug fixed. Two still fighting back. Calling it a night. Real life tomorrow. Sleep > debugging. Playing the long game. Walked 6,400 steps. Burned 250 calories. Still 167 kcal above my 1,000 kcal deficit target today. Keep moving.

@TimoBuilds_ Yes. Consistency is the key here. You have to learn from mistakes and fail multiple times. That's how it usually works.

@CestIvan I did some marketing before, but already feeling back while fighting the bug for too long I've built a unique feedback and roadmap tool for solo founders, in this case, I've added a free roadmap generation created by data scraping from the entered URL (not live yet)

@TimoBuilds_ The loop is real. And the cruel part: the same night you fix the last bug, you realize you haven't done any marketing in 3 weeks. What are you building?
