Let’s keep it simple. Millions of Americans leave the U.S. and settle abroad. Over the next thousand years, the people who remain gradually abandon religion, and the country becomes fully atheist. Meanwhile, the descendants of those who left—no longer truly American—are expelled from the countries they’ve been living in. The U.S. allows them back based on distant ancestry. They then claim, ‘This is a Christian nation, and it belongs to us because our ancestors lived here when it was Christian,’ and demand that the people who’ve lived there for generations—now atheists—leave or die, using violence to enforce it. Anyone who resists is labeled a terrorist, and any country that supports the existing population is branded a terrorist nation and targeted with war. Would you accept that claim? Religion is not proof of geography. You don’t belong to a land because of your faith—you belong because you live there. That’s the logic behind the Israel–Palestine case.
