(I'm a high school history teacher. Midway through the semester we started covering the Civil Rights Movement. I showed a documentary with footage from protests and sit-ins. A few days after a quiz on the subject, I got a furious phone call from a parent.)
Father: "If you don't tell me who authorized this propaganda, I'm filing a complaint with the district TODAY"
Me: "Uh... good afternoon, sir. I'm [My Name], I teach U.S. History. What exactly are you referring to?"
Father: "I'm talking about YOU filling my daughter's head with lies about American history and making her think this country was built on racism"
Me: "I'm sorry, what?"
Father: "You showed her a film depicting America as some evil oppressive nightmare! She came home crying saying she was ashamed to be American"
Me: "What's your daughter's name, sir?"
He told me and I immediately remembered her because she was the most engaged student during that entire unit, asking thoughtful questions and taking detailed notes.
Father: "You liberal piece of garbage, I won't have you brainwashing our kids with revisionist nonsense! The Civil Rights Movement didn't happen the way you're teaching it! You're pushing a political agenda"
Me: "Sir, with all due respect, how can you possibly deny that the Civil Rights Movement happened?"
Father: "What?"
Me: "We're literally teaching documented American history. The protests, the marches, the legislation, these are verifiable historical events with mountains of evidence, photographs, video footage, and living witnesses. There's no agenda here. This is just factual history that happened within living memory."
Father: "You're distorting the truth"
Me: "Sir, I'm very sorry, but if you're going to deny well-documented historical events that fundamentally shaped modern America, then I can't help you. I strongly encourage you to speak with your daughter about what she's actually learning rather than assuming the worst."
I politely ended the call. The next day I showed another documentary, this time about the Freedom Riders. And naturally, that man's daughter was completely captivated, taking notes furiously and asking to borrow books on the subject. I think I might've inspired a future historian.
“Should schools teach the full truth of history, even when it makes people uncomfortable?”

@wyche89 Another draft with under-representation of white athletes
English

My boyfriend and I are planning to buy a house together after dating for 3 years.
He earns significantly more than I do, so he’d be contributing about 70% of the down payment. Because of that, he wants the house to be only in his name.
He says it’s just “fair” based on the numbers, but we’d both be living there, splitting bills, and building a life together.
I’ve been watching a lot of relationship content about equity vs equality, and it made me realize things don’t always have to be 50/50 but this feels like I’d have no security at all.
He said if we ever broke up, he’d “do the right thing,” but that doesn’t really reassure me.
My friends say don’t move in unless my name is on it. His friends apparently think I’m being entitled.
Now I feel stuck between trusting him and protecting myself.
Is this a red flag I’m trying too hard to rationalize?

@clairebubblepop What’s your fascination with degrading them. Go earn your own money, don’t take it from others
English

@ClassiestQueen You are so racist you don’t realize there are white D-1 athletes.

Kyle Kulinski: “Republicans try to get you to hate immigrants and hate black people and hate Muslims and hate trans people. The reason your life sucks is because of the billionaires. It’s because of the Epstein class. It’s because of the capitalists. We have income and wealth inequality worse than the fucking Gilded Age right now. They’re the problem. Tax their fucking asses.”

@WallStreetApes Attitude means a lot. In truth, I don’t believe you applied, as you think such work is beneath you. Upload your application and appointment notification

This is how bad the job market is
“I just got denied a job from Target. I have a f*cking bachelor's degree. I spent 4 years on a bachelor's degree, and — I can't get a cashier's job. I cannot get a minimum wage job”
This is not uncommon. On average in 2026, Americans must apply for over 100 jobs before being hired
In tough fields that number climbs to 100-200+ on average
She says she was interested in getting a Masters but if she cent even get a cashiers job with a bachelors degree, what’s the point

@ChrisCuomo They didn’t pay John Giotti for Sammy the Bull to narc
English

Do they?
Does the fbi fund the mob when it pays informants?
Jeff O@WeeWillieK
@ChrisCuomo and SPLC funds them
English

@MetamateDaz You realize minimum wages effect all employers. What would groceries and gas cost if employees made $30.00 hour
English

@BarronTNews_ @FBIDirectorKash @ErinM1001114973 Have to see the money trail. You don’t pay informants by giving money directly to the organization. That would be like paying John Gaitti for Sammy the Bull to inform on him. If that’s the trail, there could be an issue.
English

@FBIDirectorKash @ErinM1001114973 If that money trail holds up, it’s a serious betrayal. People donate expecting those groups to fight hate, not bankroll it. This needs full transparency, independent audits, and real consequences if it’s proven. Donors deserve answers and accountability.
English

The money doesn’t lie.
The evidence shows the charity who supposedly fought the Klan - FUNDED the Klan.
The charity who supposedly fought Neo-nazis - FUNDED Neo-nazis.
The SPLC engaged in a massive fraud operation to deceive their donors, funded the very hate groups they claim to oppose, and then hid their operations from the public through shell companies and fake entities.
This @FBI and @DAGToddBlanche won’t let them get away with it any longer.
English

@unclelukereal1 Weren’t the others co-workers: some subordinates? There are white FB coaches fired for workplace affairs. BTW, I would lump Moore in with them. Dude went crazy.
English

Let’s stop playing…
Ime Udoka — FIRED.
Mel Tucker — FIRED.
Sherrone Moore — FIRED.
But Mike Vrabel?
Handled differently… talk of “rehab,” not removal.
Same type of allegations. Different outcomes.
That’s not accountability — that’s selective enforcement.
Black coaches lose careers.
Others get second chances.
Call it what it is. 🎯
