Didn't want to mention or interact with this at all till after it was done, but this kind of betting definitely adds a weird angle to launching a project, we had so many people in discord asking about FDV that the team realized something weird was going on and then found the betting market. However, given FT's design, FDV is largely irrelevant, PUT investors can refund at 10c, so they have no reason to sell below, and if they do, the capital becomes a floor at 10c (technically its not 10c, its NAV of "withdraw from PUT FT"), it is liquidity constrained, so things can fluctuate, but this was genuinely interesting to watch, and was a very welcome stress-test to the model.

Sale is only on Ethereum for now. Majority (90%+) of commitments were on Ethereum. Flying Tulip is an application, similar to Aave, Uniswap, Ethena, GMX, etc. It is launching on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche, Base, and Sonic, with future expansions planned for MegaETH, Monad, and Hyperliquid.

The token sale for Flying Tulip is now live. For those who don't know, this is Andre Cronje's new DeFi project (spot trading, perps, lending++). Ngl, interesting times to raise in, but there is a principal protection, so that you can ask for a refund at anytime. TGE is in 1 week from now, and all raised capital is floating into low risk yield strategies which are used for buybacks and burn. The flywheel from holding the $FT token is that fees leads to → buybacks/burn → fewer tokens in circulation → scarcity → up only (at least in theory).

Crypto rambling is making new highs lfg! If you have 98% of crypto population (projects/capitalists/compulsive lowlifes) coming in, believing they can get rich fast.. Everything that comes about crypto will reflect this fact…holding value and compounding😂 Crypto has a culture/ethics problem.

A mentor of mine once explained that wealthy people setup systems such that "as time passes, they become more wealthy" i.e. investments, yield, and asset ownership. The problem with crypto right now is its a traders market, not an owners market. I want to be a long-term asset owner in equity which compounds positively. We're not there yet. We will not advance as an industry until we solve the compounding issue. This means the creation, or re-creation, of investable assets with real long-term business models, a claim on cash flows, and real governance rights. @santiagoroel & I do agree that Hyperliquid is the closest thing to this in the entire digital asset industry today. Its these assets where time works in your favor & the math behind compound interest transfers value from "traders" to "owners" over a long enough timeframe. I want to beat short-term minded people by being patient, not compete in the trenches with them. Something needs to change.

That's it. I'm quitting crypto. I invested $186,282 into the @MegaETH sale and that turned into a $MEGA rug. They took my money and locked it behind TGE KPIs they can't even reach. I'll be lucky to get any money back. I'm done with this space.

Sonic (previously Fantom), launched during the 2018 ICO boom. At that time, the core thesis of value accrual for "why to buy a token" was simply... More users = more transactions = more gas spent = deflation and total return of value to token. Over the past 5+ years, this has been fully disproven. As written in the article, L1 reliance on gas fees should just be the foundational feature, but more features must be built ontop of that.

He has a point. For those who witnessed March to June 2022 would identify similarities with Oct. 2025 and recent periods.
