2. Other Sweaty Players
3. Knowing the steps
4. 30 Minute Window
5. Only on the weekend
This is going to filter out 95% of players for a game that held off reviews for this game

Do you want a meaningful endgame that certain people will choose to overcome, and therefore make the difficulty of it lucrative for ambitious players? A genuine goal to achieve?
Or another unambitious strike map that becomes routine?
You cant have both without losing something.

Yeah this is the question. You can design content that is visually, mechanically and thematically interesting but if you're completely wiping out players' vaults rapidly you're looking at potentially fractional participation. When...you already need more players

@PaulTassi These are teaching you situational awareness more than anything else. They are challenging, but doable. Some may take an evening or two to finish, but keeping in mind how many quests there are (not so many), and that the season is three months, I really don't see a problem.

@PaulTassi I think the questing on top of this gets frustrating. I need to do this quest on top of managing my loot, other players, UESC and maybe some debuffs on me. This game just feels like super duper gambit.

my Marathon take is that it is really good but really hard and really, really going to be needed to play with a team you know to get very far

Thoughts on Marathon adding in a PvE only version of maps with higher density of mobs? I know the true extraction people will hate this idea. I personally could care less. I only say this because these bots are tougher than some teams I've come across. Absolute demons.

First, this is false. From the beginning, the game was going to be a extraction shooter. Second, the game already has a campaign. I'll repeat it 30 times: it's called Priority Contracts. Literally, the story progresses and has a beginning and an end.

There is something about how interiors and map elements are designed that makes me feel as though this game was supposed to have a campaign and I can't shake it. Playing it feels like a game trying to be something it's not.

I also think that the UESC has a good variety. You have the soldiers, then the grenadiers, then the ones that become invisible, and the commanders and snipers also have different colors, so each unit has a more difficult, improved version, and then there are the red ones 💀
