The couple heard glass shatter at a side door, and Malcolm went to investigate before encountering two masked men entering the property. Malcolm ran back to the bedroom, locked the door, and told Anya to hide behind the bed. As the men tried to force the door open with a crowbar, he grabbed a lamp and shouted that he had a gun, which caused the intruders to flee. The armed robber has since been sentenced to three years in prison.
