⭐ H. K. Bearman (centre) was our second County Librarian, holding the position for 33 years from 1937 until 1970. He fought for the expansion of the service and an extensive building programme, creating a strong library network throughout the county. #LibraryChampion

This month we’re shining a spotlight on #EastGrinstead Library, our only library bordering four counties and near Winnie the Pooh’s Ashdown Forest. We'll take you on a tour of the library - how many times can you spot Andrew?!📚

⭐Ella is a Library Officer at Littlehampton Library, helping to manage a number of libraries in the area. Her role includes recruiting and training new staff and volunteers, and helping to make sure our libraries are able to deliver the full range of services for customers.

🥰Teacher Gemma supports children looked after by the council. She works with the library team on our Just For You scheme, where books and gifts are posted to children in local foster care placements, along with an invitation to visit a local library to collect another free book.

📣#Hassocks Library will be closed on Monday 1 September to Friday 5 September, reopening at 9.00am on Saturday 6 September. This is to allow for the installation of new windows. The nearest libraries are #Hurstpierpoint Library or #BurgessHill Library.
