@4thSnake Let me put it this way, I like the lore, characters and story of MK, most of it anyway, but I do not play MK games because I do not jive with MK as a game, am I a fan if I don't interact with the medium in its intended format? I dont think so, hence I don't say I'm a MK fan.

Sincerely, if someone doesn't won't play older Resident Evil games - be it the cost of getting them all, the time on top of everything else in their lives, or just not gelling with that style of game - why do you ACTUALLY care? Why do you feel the need to shame strangers for it?

@Samuelorana @SynthPotato How are you supposed to have an opinion on a game mechanic you've never experienced? If they haven't played the game, their opinion is automatically invalid. Also, a gamer wouldn't consider PLAYING GAMES to be a waste of their time, because gamers PLAY games.

@SynthPotato And who are you to say that exactly? Everyone can be a gamer u can literally see the mechanics happen on video how does that make anyone a non-gamer? People spend their time wisely and have things they gotta do other than spending hundreds on video games they can watch

Seeing a lot of discussion about this, Gaming is an interactive medium. When you remove the interaction part, you are missing out on a critical part of the experience. It's OK to enjoy stories by watching vids but I really think you need to play to appreciate games fully imo.

Is it not crazy we have adults unironically arguing on here about the countless ways you can be a fan of something while avoiding experiencing it at all costs? We really got horror "fans* that won't engage with horror because it's scary. 700 likes, you can't make this shit up. Like this isn't a debatable topic, there's a clear right and wrong answer. This shouldn't be a conversation we are having at all. People really saying "gatekeeping" and the gatekeeping in question is literally just engaging with what they claim to be a fan of, the actual bare minimum. It's insane. You can really tell who genuinely wants to enjoy the art and who just wants to fit in.

There’s nothing wrong with watching games on YouTube. As long as you don’t claim to be a fan. You don’t get to be a fan of something due to pity for your financial situation. We’re not creating fandom equity. I’ve been on the poorer side my whole life, any game I’ve watched on YouTube I don’t claim to be a fan of. To be a fan of a book, you have to read it. To be a fan of a movie, you have to watch it. To be a fan of a game, you have to play it.

@SaveTh3D3mon Learn your buttons and special moves, get comfortable and familiar with your tools before building bridges. After that, you can learn basics like spacing nd timing. Worry about combos when your comfortable enough to do the basics.

@BurgundyStriker CoM and Re:CoM arent bad games by any means, at least from gameplay standards, just for me, the game never clicked. I'm not much on card/deck building so it wasn't my cup of tea. Loved the Pixel art in CoM tho, made me wish we got more GBA KH titles

Been playing through Chain of Memories GBA and marveling at how good it is. I know ReCOM is probably worse but I wonder if it's really that much worse. And I remember you guys hated CoM even BEFORE that remake.
