@moving_charlie What kind of things should a good estate agent be suggesting to create a market for my home? I’ve spoken to 6 and still unsure (apart from no long contract)

There’s no surprise that the housing market function won’t improve if literally everyone involved stubbornly refuses to change their approach. 1. Sellers still asking for a “valuation” without realising it’s a red herring and a trap. Should be asking “how do you create a market for my home” and not signing long contracts. 2. Most buyers still overpaying in droves, blinded like zombies by the industry narrative that everything’s fine and you can’t lose. 3. Agents competing in a proven zero sum game by persisting in giving “valuations” (wild and disingenuous guesses to win a contract signature) and then wondering why they don’t sell. “We all agree it’s bad and we all want it to be better but we won’t change our behaviour because we think that’s the best thing to do.”
