@NancyRPearcey Today Trump call whole nations and peoples evil and inferior, while Christian MAGA either pretends not to hear or just plain doesn't care.

Aristotle said that some people are by nature slaves, while others are by nature masters. By contrast, St. Paul wrote that among Christians, "there is neither slave nor free," that we are "all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28)

@NancyRPearcey Also in ancient Greece. Theognis of Megara wrote that a slave woman can't give birth to a free man, and that slavery was shameful; the Greeks considered slaves almost like a different species.

"The average IQ in Somalia hovers around 70, and that's the threshold for mentally handicapped ... they're a net drain on the society" -- even by MAGA standards, the unvarnished racism of this interview of Rep. Brandon Gill by Benny Johnson is breathtaking

This is true—just not for the reasons they think—preferential treatment for the poor, dismissing wealth and power as signs of right or goodness, all of these are offensive beliefs in most societies, and all of these Christian beliefs Protestants dispense with.

.@realDailyWire asked me to expand my analysis of the Allie Beth Stuckey-David French debate into a full column: The avowed atheist Friedrich Nietzsche would have no problem calling Talarico a non-Christian because of the orthodox doctrines that Talarico rejects. Why can’t David French? dailywire.com/news/allie-bet…

@JamieBonkiewicz Do you have the courage to explain how that can be true in light of Samaritan's Purse? Graham's excuses for Trump are revolting, but that just makes him a very flawed person — like the rest of us.

@booksoftitans Do you accept his argument absolving Helen? If he's right, can't we all use it to justify our own wrongdoings? The philosopher Josef Pieper defines Ate' as a fate decreed by Zeus, but for which man is accountable. That seems to me like a definition profitable to live by, of

Sunday morning reading: I read about the Sophist Gorgias of Leontini. For most of the early Greek philosophers, we only have fragments of their works, but with Gorgias, we have a few surviving speeches/works. One is a defense of Helen of Troy which uses persuasion to absolve Helen of guilt for the benefit of history. It was fascinating and I highly suggest reading it. He provides arguments in relation to love, speech, force, and fate. Plato also has a dialogue named for this philosopher.

“Christian” @DavidAFrench is exactly what @RushLimbaughEIB meant when he said: “Liberals are always liberals FIRST, no matter what else they claim to be.” French’s true religion is worldly leftism, not Christianity.
Megan Basham@megbasham

Notice what @DavidAFrench never references in his willingness to treat Talarico as a true Christian brother. And that is what scripture says. Talarico says God is nonbinary and has denied the exclusivity of Christ as the only means to eternal life. French is in clear disobedience by treating Talarico as a Christian. —1 Corinthians 5:11–13, But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one…God judges those outside. ‘Purge the evil person from among you.’ —2 Thessalonians 3:6, In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. —2 Thes 3:13-14, Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed. (Also, this is a repost so that people can see the video).

@DavidAFrench this interview made it beyond obvious that the New York Times is the most homogenous newsroom on earth and you’ve never been intellectually challenged about anything. You tripped over your tongue like a flat-earther beamed up to the Enterprise in orbit.

@Unknown220 @JohnDalyBooks Except that French was repeatedly challenged to prove his charge against Stuckey, but claimed he didn't have the facts in front of him. He does now. Either he's being polite by not posting them, or he doesn't have them. Given that she's claiming vindication, why is he silent?

@JohnDalyBooks One is a NYT columnist and a other is on social media and has a podcast. It seems reasonable that she will post clips to get attention. French is reasonable in just posting a thank you because he's not a Christian influencer/podcaster. Both acted admirably imo

@Jackson32988 @MrsCMFrancis Why is no longer supporting a small democratic country defending itself against a large oligarchic country the best option for Christians? Based on experience questioning Trump supporters, I don't expect an answer.

Only got through about half of the Stucky/French interview last night cause the man is such a snake I couldn’t take it anymore. Will try to get through the rest today. Allie is so poised, what a great example of gracious pushback without compromise.

@KaeleyT @DavidAFrench @conservmillen It looks to me like she's defending her reputation, and it also looks to me like French knows he owes her an apology, so he'd rather not talk about it.

When it comes to cultural/spiritual hot button issues, if you asked me point blank whether I find myself agreeing more often with @DavidAFrench or @conservmillen , I would probably have to say I align more with Allie Beth. I would be inclined to offer a ton of caveats, though, as I can sometimes find her lack of nuance and her willingness to whitewash the indefensible pretty offputting. But when it comes to their debate this past week, it definitely seems like Allie Beth approached it as an opportunity to gather "gotcha" snippets to wield against French, and French used it as an open-minded opportunity to model civil discourse, even in disagreement. I have more respect for the latter approach.

@politicalsock @conservmillen Politeness is a form of respect, as is proper for a human being created in God's image; and respect is a form of love. "Heresy" should be reserved for those who claim to be Christian but disavow core Christian doctrine about Jesus Christ. Rightly or wrongly, liberal Christians

Allie, ever so gently but thoroughly, pressed French (heh) She showed how French dishonestly claimed she was champion of political cruelty. How French could not rationally justify a vote for Kamala Harris. And finally how French ignores heresy from Talarico because he’s “polite”
Allie Beth Stuckey@conservmillen

I asked David French about his article calling James Talarico a Christian example in light of Talarico’s statements in support of transing kids, abortion, and God being “non-binary.” French: “I’m just not willing to say James Talarico is not a Christian.” My response:
