Great news that the @metpoliceuk will no longer investigate non-crime hate incidents -- a direct result of our successful campaign to get the Met to drop its investigation of @glinner, which it has now done. This is a tremendous victory, but the war is not yet over. We now have to make sure all the other police forces in the UK follow in the Met's footsteps and they all now stop recording NCHIs, including the Met, in a way that means they can show up in enhanced DBS checks and prevent you from getting a job as a teacher or a carer. No one should be prevented from getting a job because they've committed a 'non-crime'. Nevertheless, this is an important step on the road to scrapping NCHIs altogether, something our director, Lord Young of Acton, called for in the House of Lords last Thursday. He has proposed an amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill, co-sponsored by Lord Hogan-Howe, a former Metropolitan Police Commissioner, to abolish NCHIs.

A UK Government department officially profiled me to block a freedom of information request. They said releasing the data could cause "public backlash" because of my "social media activity." The law says FOI Requests must be judged on the information, not the person asking. This sets a very dangerous precedent.

Britain’s Most Polite “Terrorist”: Tommy Robinson Allowed to Fly to Israel While Court Takes a Three-Week Nap Only in Britain could a man labelled a “terror threat” be politely told, “We’ll get back to you in three weeks — have a nice trip.” After all the dramatic headlines, the police theatrics, and the government’s insistence that @TRobinsonNewEra is some kind of national menace, the courts have now decided he’s free to hop on a flight to Israel while they take their time deciding his fate. That’s right — the “terrorist” gets a passport, not a prison cell. If this were a genuine threat to national security, they’d have him chained to a radiator by now. But no, the state’s premier “dangerous man” is off to the Holy Land, probably to do more journalism than the BBC has managed in years. Let’s call this what it is: political theatre with the efficiency of a broken fax machine. The British establishment doesn’t know what to do with Tommy. Lock him up and he becomes a martyr; let him go and he proves how ridiculous their accusations are. So instead, they do what bureaucrats do best — stall. Three weeks to “deliberate” on a case that’s essentially about refusing to hand over a phone pin? Please. They’re not weighing evidence; they’re weighing optics. They’re trying to script the verdict that will cause the least embarrassment — to themselves. This isn’t justice; it’s damage control. The system that lets violent offenders walk free after 18 months now needs nearly a month to decide whether a journalist deserves a fine or a medal. Tommy Robinson isn’t the danger. The danger is a government so busy prosecuting dissent that it’s forgotten how to govern. So, yes — the man they call a terrorist is free to fly. And somewhere in a London office, a few very nervous civil servants are trying to figure out how to make tyranny look like democracy.

Thanks Tommy. And thanks Wendell. I have covered a dozen or more trials in the UK and my coverage has cumulatively been seen by tens of millions of people — 8.5 million yesterday alone. My live-tweeting style gives much more information than traditional reporting in the form of one single essay at the end of the day. In fact, I can see the regime journalists constantly checking my X feed. That’s what makes the BBC so mad — I get more views than them, but more to the point, I don’t share their political perspective. The regime media are like an old guild, trying to keep out competitors — either commercial competitors or ideological competitors. I think this is about modernizing the courts; it’s about access to justice and transparency. I know the media cartel doesn’t want that, but the judge should. One more word about “quality” — misinformation, disinformation, errors. Independent media is much more nimble in dealing with corrections — especially X’s @CommunityNotes. Unlike regime media, which gets to veto letters to the editor they don’t like. Earlier today I posted a completely false headline by @SkyNews, which will never be corrected, because it’s hostile to @TRobinsonNewEra, so it’s the “good” kind of error. My tweets are sometimes spicy, but no more so than the malicious defamation of Tommy by the regime media, who never write about him without saying “EDL founder” or some personal or classist sneer. Class is certainly part of this. The prestige media are in the courtroom itself. The citizen journalists are in a holding room, behind shatter-proof glass, where it’s almost impossible to hear the proceedings. Know your place! I say prestige media with a wink — they certainly think they’re prestigious. But not a one of them works for a successful company — they’re either owned by oligarchs or bailed out by the taxpayer, or both. They’re heroes in their own mind, but the world — and the Internet — has moved on and forgotten them, long ago. I hope the court chooses the future, even with its risks and chaos, over the stale, insular, narcissistic media establishment. We’ll see what the judge tells me shortly.
