Here's my question. HOW do we let cable companies get away with being downright predatory. @optimum snuck HBO Max into my bill for 2 yrs, Found out when I went to cancel and got a. notification that I still owe $20 for the last month of HBO. Won't even waive the one month WILD

Technology advancements can destroy the market for entire commodities. In the late 1800's, natural ice was the 2nd largest US export behind cotton. Refrigeration froze the ice market.

Truck drivers are the only real capacity constraint. The more truck drivers that join the market, the more capacity in the market. This drives down rates. After all, trucking is a commodity. Promoting a perpetual driver shortage is promoting cheap rates.

We did an event in Chicago. We weren’t allowed to plug/unplug into an outlet by ourselves. We had to call a union person so they could do it. If we did it ourselves, we were in violation of our contract. Fighting for comp is one thing - but unions often going beyond comp and inflict ridiculousness on society.

I was speaking at this event in Las Vegas and there were audio issues. Despite sitting right next to each other, the microphone guy and the sound board guy couldn’t talk to each other to troubleshoot because they worked for different unions. Clown world.

Time is literally money for trucking fleets. Getting fuel is considered "on-duty" time for drivers (dumb - but I don't make the rules). Plus, anything fleets can do to make their drivers' lives easier should be a top priority. Fleets should think of direct fueling the way they think of drop & hook. Less time for drivers doing things that don't pay the bills - and far more convenient.
