Most business problems are personal problems in disguise. You think it's your pricing. Or your niche. Or your inability to focus for more than 12 seconds. But then you sit down and ask: What do I value? What keeps happening? And are those two things quietly at war? Here's a quick exercise you can try: List your core values, and then name a persistent problem in your work. When I do this with clients, the results are painfully obvious: โ†’ โ€œI value generosity โ€” but I keep saying yes to work I resent.โ€ One client finally stopped playing the Discount Fairy and raised her rates 30%. โ†’ โ€œI value kindness โ€” but I donโ€™t extend it to myself.โ€ That realization led to actual rest time between projects. And guess what? His work got better. โ†’ โ€œI want to succeed โ€” but Stranger Things feels better than a cold pitch.โ€ Once she saw the pattern, she set a rule: no Netflix until three outreach emails are sent. This is the stuff that actually keeps you stuck. You're not lazy. And you know what you need to do. Youโ€™re just caught in a values conflict you havenโ€™t named yet. Fix that โ€” and the "business" stuff gets a lot easier.

@ignis_fatum Over here it just sounded like a long distant rumble. We have learned how to distinguish the sounds of interceptions, single-warhead impact, and cluster munitions impact.

Hereโ€™s mine. And btw, once we were in the merchav mugan, the doctor was like, โ€œis there a rivka here?โ€ And the secretary was like, โ€œwhat are you talking about?โ€ And he said, โ€œwell sheโ€™s my next patient,โ€ to which the secretary replied: โ€œWere you planning on checking her HERE???โ€

In my 1st 2 pregnancies, I was a Knesset reporter and had a recurring nightmare that I would go into labor in the Knesset and Ahmed Tibi (who's an OBGYN) would have to deliver the baby (nothing personal, but not my ideal birth scenario) New nightmare unlocked:

I did ask it, but Iโ€™ll likely follow up over the next few days and feed it some ideas from twitter posts. ๐Ÿคฃ It likes to tell me it canโ€™t do things and then Iโ€™ll show it a post and itโ€™ll be like, oh thanks for letting me know! Youโ€™re right. ๐Ÿคฃ Basically, I talk to it the way I talk to my teenagers.

Before Claude Code, building an automation for my business looked like this: โ†“ Log into Zapier. Pay for the plan that actually lets you do things. Spend two hours dragging boxes around a screen. Hit a wall because the integration you need doesn't exist. Give up and do it manually. After Claude Code: Describe the problem in plain English and it just... builds it. I have so many automations I have always dreamed of built this way: โ†ณ Checking payment issues from my membership every Monday โ†ณ Running morning briefs that pull from my calendar, emails, and task list โ†ณ Writing & scheduling social media posts just by having a conversation โ†ณ Even building live business dashboards Claude Code is like having my own private Zapier, except all I have to do is say what I want and it just goes and works it out.

Yesterday, after Shabbat servicesโ€”during which I announced the protocol for a missile sirenโ€”I recommended a fantastic kosher restaurant to friends flying to Paris this week. The husband paused, lowered his voice, and said, "But is it... safe... to go to Jewish places in Paris?"

@ShannonJean I feel like this is where Shabbat is a cheat code. Canโ€™t do anything for 25 hours, so I get to think it through, and Iโ€™m usually clear on what I really want to do by the time it ends.

My daughter is rewatching Stranger Things. Iโ€™m sitting in the next room, trying to recover from the last adrenaline rush from running to the shelter. I can hear the screams from the show, as Dustin and his friends fight off the Demogorgons or whatever monster theyโ€™re fighting. I canโ€™t watch it again. My nerves are shot. I ask abby how the show makes her feel. She says relaxed. ๐Ÿ˜ณ I suppose made up monsters are comforting in comparison to the real ones trying to kill us.

Dear fellow Democrats, If you believe either Israel or the United States started this war, you have fallen for propaganda. You are exactly like the right-wing anti-vaxers you despise, believing a storyline without checking to see if itโ€™s true. Iran has been BEGGING for a war since 1979. They have attacked Israel relentlessly, gleefully targeting their civilians. They slaughtered our marines. Theyโ€™re spent every second since 2005 destabilizing the entire Middle East. All this history is out there for you to read. No one wanted this war. But ignoring jihadists doesnโ€™t work. Sometimes you have to go kill the people trying to kill you.

Absolutely stupid, naive, mental behavior. I couldnโ€™t give less of a shit whether youโ€™re choking down a baguette or shoving it where the sun donโ€™t shine. But when a business covers chametz on Passover, tearing it down is vandalism. Simple as. Donโ€™t like it? Then get the hell out & spend your money somewhere that sells Chametz. You work there? Pack your shit and go find a job at a carpet shop. A business gets to decide what it sells & when, based on the ownerโ€™s religious values and the customer base it serves. If you canโ€™t handle that, thatโ€™s your problem. If you keep making a scene about it every damn year, youโ€™re everyoneโ€™s problem. Sincerely, Fuck off.
