@pritipatel And then you as Home Secretary threw the borders open by allowing 4m
low skilled immigrants to bring unlimited dependents.

Ten years ago 17 million people voted for Britain to take back control in the largest democratic mandate seen in our history.
As a sovereign independent nation, free from the shackles of EU control, Britain was freed to set its own course and pursue its own destiny.
We have the power to pursue our own trade deals, back businesses by cutting red tape and to stand tall in the world.
With democratically accountable politicians in our Parliament and Government free to make the laws that affect us, it's time to take full advantage of our Brexit freedoms.

Brexit was just the beginning.

@sebshearer @TheMercianNews It pretty much does. After one year of indefinite leave they can apply for citizenship of which 98% of applications are waved through.
English

@TheMercianNews @DCBMEP Thankfully "indefinite" doesn't mean "permanent".

@blexbekene @TheMercianNews Every country has the right to do what it likes with its immigration system. No British person dictates to an African or Asian govt to change its system.
English

@TheMercianNews But the immigrants here are tax payers , or do you think Dey are setting and home and relaxing and waiting for Government money ….
English

@coolented @TheMercianNews The policy had 60-70% support in polls including a majority of Labour voters. These substantial reforms would have settled the debate for a generation and allowed the govt to focus on the small boats.

@GeorgyKantor No they don’t. Universities need to merge and consolidate, and not immediately revert to being visa processing centres.
English

Catastrophic news from Exeter, on the heels of Dundee and Nottingham. The UK gov't and devolved governments need to urgently get a grip: the sums involved are not enormous, but damage to the university system will soon be irreparable. 1/2 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@Iromg The unelected POS has no mandate to give millions citizenship.

@NotAIf_ @brayash24 @PolitlcsUK @theipaper Immigration is cost of living. Our youth are competing with the world’s immigrants for scarce entry jobs and rental accomodation.

@brayash24 @PolitlcsUK @theipaper The biggest issue in this country is costing of living, which is shown by consistently polling atop

🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham is considering watering down Shabana Mahmood's immigration reforms
This includes ditching the retrospective reform for "Boriswave" migrants to wait 10 not 5 years for permanent residence

@Abbott__ @brayash24 @PolitlcsUK @theipaper Immigration is cost of living. It puts downward pressure on wages and increases competition for housing and schools and GP appointments.
English

@brayash24 @PolitlcsUK @theipaper How is immigration the biggest issue and not the cost of living, the fact no one can afford to go out, not able to put food on the table, unemployment, lack of housing, poor education system, racists in parliament, the NHS and police being underfunded?
English

@BADDESTDJTIMMY @PolitlcsUK @theipaper And migrants are more loyal to their dump of a home country than ours.
English

@PolitlcsUK @theipaper Good job Andy. Migrants are here to stay 👏
English

@RobertHouseInc @PolitlcsUK @theipaper The problem is those ‘hard working immigrants’ will be entitled to benefits and social housing under Burnhams changes, even under conservative estimates that will cost billions.
English

@PolitlcsUK @theipaper Well yeah, hard working immigrants working 5 years paying taxes without crimes are beneficial and they integrate, they keep our NHS afloat. The issue is asylum seekers because they get access to funds immediately and take up our housing and they can blag it easily
English

@neil_grib1878 @MatthewStadlen Why would we have to arrange an agreement with the EU to deport Iraqi, Indian or Algerian failed asylum seekers?
English

@acaciablack5 @MatthewStadlen And the ones not from Pakistan? And there would have to be an agreement from European countries to take them back. Because of…..go on, I’ll let you have a guess.
English

@The_Clermontian Because our media class lives in leafy suburbs without any HMO or gang of African men in sight.

Our brilliant media class never pushed him on this.
