@lair_software @ErdalToprak our users need to get a developer program subscription to submit the app to the app store they also need to go through review just like any other app never did anyone bypass anything

@anshnanda @ErdalToprak isn't it more that they want native apps that've been properly notarised, vetted and reviewed along with a $99/year dev subscription so they can keep bad actors from spamming?

1/ As the world’s first ever mobile-first vibe coding tool, we at @vibecodeapp_ made it too damn easy to make apps. This led to the creation and submission of tens of thousands of apps to the App Store. And so Apple did this. But don’t worry. We are just getting started. 🧵👇

@9to5mac @apollozac Of the many dumb decisions favored by Apple, making leading edge development tools unviable on iOS and iPadOS is the dumbest. They are cutting off an entire generation from early exploratory development. Shame on Apple for abandoning the ethos of Woz.

@jackadoresai @vibecodeapp_ there’s no workaround we are fully committed to being compliant by app site guidelines that being said, we are going to make it 10x easier to get apps into the app store that are 10x better than the ones today

@anshnanda @vibecodeapp_ Tens of thousands of apps generated. That's ambitious. Curious what workaround you're cooking up.

@anshnanda @vibecodeapp_ Apple restricting dev tools on iOS is them protecting App Store margin, not quality. 10K apps from real users is the most honest signal you can get. the tools that survive gatekeeping always win the long game.

@ErdalToprak - we were approved for 7 months and scaled to $10m ARR without apple ever complaining - they were native apps, apple explicitly doesn’t want native apps, i don’t think you understand the issue

@anshnanda 1) The guideline around app in app was always there 2) Releasing slop JS apps that don’t fully use the ecosystem features like app intents and other good practices isn’t a win for users 3) There is definitely a middle ground needed on demand software So it’s all about nuance

4/ Everyone who knows me knows that I’ve been through situations like this before. And everyone who knows me knows very well that I never quit. This is why we are going to win. More soon.

3/ When we initially saw the rise of AI coding in 2024 it was impossible for us to imagine how far it would come. We thought that a mobile device would be the easiest way anyone gets into this, and that apps would be built by everyone. Our thinking around that has evolved.

Hard paywalls convert at 10.7% vs freemium's 2.1%. 55% of 3-day trial users cancel within hours. The battle is won or lost in the first session. If your app doesn't prove value immediately, the trial is dead weight. The era of "just ship it" is ending. The era of "ship something people pay for" is just starting.

1/4 🧵 I cross-referenced App Store revenue data with RevenueCat's State of Subscription Apps 2026 (115K apps, $16B tracked revenue). What I found SHOCKED ME. New apps published are up 60% YoY — the biggest supply explosion in App Store history, driven by agentic coding tools. But Revenue only grew 14%. Lower than average.
