A mesmerizing journey through history and a strong step toward future educational ties in Eger! 🇮🇳📚🇭🇺 During his visit, Ambassador was warmly received by the Rector of the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University. They discussed deepening institutional cooperation and exchanging scholars with Indian universities. It was also wonderful to interact with the bright Indian students currently pursuing their studies there! 🎓 The absolute highlight was visiting the magnificent 200-year-old university library. We were thrilled to be shown an 18th-century map of India and a rare 1781 Hungarian translation of the famous Indian classic, the Panchatantra! 🗺️📖 To further this beautiful connection, the university library has graciously agreed to host a new "India Corner," featuring a collection of books to be donated by the Embassy. — Lenyűgöző történelmi utazás és a jövőbeli oktatási kapcsolatok erősítése Egerben! 🇮🇳📚🇭🇺 Látogatása során Anshuman Gaur nagykövetet szívélyesen fogadta az Eszterházy Károly Katolikus Egyetem rektora. Egyeztettek az intézményközi együttműködés elmélyítéséről és az indiai egyetemekkel való kutatói csereprogramokról. Szintén nagyszerű élmény volt találkozni a jelenleg ott tanuló tehetséges indiai diákokkal! 🎓 A látogatás fénypontja a csodálatos, 200 éves egyetemi könyvtár megtekintése volt. Prime Minister @narendramodi held wide-ranging and productive discussions with Prime Minister @MarkJCarney in New Delhi today. The leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation. Discussions included areas of trade & investment, defence & security, education & culture, clean energy & critical minerals, AI & supercomputing and mobility. Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments. The leaders emphasised that terrorism, extremism and radicalisation pose serious challenges to humanity. Several MoUs in key areas, including civil nuclear cooperation, energy, critical minerals, education & skill development, science & technology and culture were exchanged. In a significant decision, it was agreed to double bilateral trade in goods and services to USD 50 billion by 2030. The leaders also announced the formal launch of CEPA negotiations, the India-Canada Parliament Friendship Group and the India-Canada Defence Dialogue - advancing the India–Canada partnership. The leaders emphasized early conclusion of CEPA and scaling up cooperation in civilian nuclear energy, critical minerals, AI, agritech, space, sustainable agriculture, security and financial services. These priority sectors are expected to drive growth, innovation, supply chain resilience and create jobs especially for the youth.
