@tim_michell I don't understand why Essendon didnt go with option C: Tell Merrett he can go, but to the team they choose based on trade equity.
Surely they could have landed an early and late first round pick for him?
Holding unhappy players rarely works out.

@tim_michell The only reason they didn’t is cause they don’t have confidence in their recruiting team picking the right players in the draft. They have a terrible recent history of picking duds. But do your due diligence and there are good players in the second third and fourth rounds.
