I wanted to reintroduce myself here in this platform: i’m a 22 year old DS working at a HiLabs & contributing to GNU Octave through GSOC ’26 over the last few years, i’ve somehow ended up doing a bit of everything i genuinely enjoy: 1. 25+ merged PRs in Octave, mostly around performance & memory bottlenecks in systems like KD-Trees, kNN, HNSW etc 2. currently working on a research idea around hierarchical RAG systems & query-conditioned retrieval 3. taking part in the ICML AdaptFM challenge to make Qwen inference faster 4. built & experimented with RAG pipelines, multimodal systems, RL, LLM eval frameworks, fine-tuning & retrieval systems during internships/projects 5. won a few hackathons along the way & still love competitions because they force you to learn fast 6. ex-Codeforces Expert, led IIT Roorkee to a Silver Medal at Inter IIT Tech (ISRO Geospatial PS), still trying to find time for CP again 7. outside tech, i spend a lot of time running, lifting or making random edits still learning everyday, but excited for what’s ahead. I hope I am reaching the right people who would help me drift in the right direction.

@anushkag319 in for a ride fs, try reading in a recursion kind of pattern, as you build upon next and next chapters, come back and start from bottom up to the chapter you're on

would be doing a lot of literature review today and try to basket good ideas today inorder to further increase the scores. Currently at 61st position, lets see how the scores improve

Google has all the resources and data why they can't build AI model strong enough to compete Claude ???

was a long day, made some baseline submissions (quite humbling experience), today I would work more around literature review and trying to get a better grasp of existing literature so that I can nudge the leaderboard even more

would be taking part in stanford AIMS' predictive AI evaluation challenge, really liked the evaluation as a prediction + measurement problem rather than just another benchmark leaderboard

the terms like "x nm" chip don't explicitly correlate to the size of chips nowadays, damn!

I recently posted about how I won 60$ through open source without any difficult approval process. Here is how I did it through #stellarjourneytomastery program. If you're a developer looking to add open source contributions in your resume, this is the best way to do that ☺️ Link in the comments👇

Technical reports are probably the highest ROI thing an ML researcher can read. Starting with the MAI-DS-R1 report. Looking for reusable patterns, that I can apply elsewhere:

Super excited to announce seven new world-class MAI models today. They represent what we consider a new era in AI designed to keep you in control and on the frontier. First is our text foundation model, MAI-Thinking-1, exceptionally strong on reasoning and SWE tasks. - It’s a 35B active parameter MoE with a 256K context window. Independent human raters on Surge prefer it for overall quality in blind side-by-sides versus Sonnet 4.6, and it’s achieved 97% on AIME 2025, the key measure of its general-purpose reasoning abilities. - It's at 53% on SWE Bench Pro, placing it right alongside Opus 4.6 on one of the toughest coding benchmarks. - And since we co-designed our models with our own silicon, MAI-Thinking-1 is optimized on our MAIA 200 chip. Benchmarking head-to-head against the GB200, we see 30% better performance per dollar as well as a 1.4x performance-per-watt gain when running our MAI models on the MAIA 200 end-to-end. Next is MAI-Image-2.5 and its Flash variant. Two super strong models now at #2 on the leaderboards, surpassing the score of Nano Banana 2 on image editing. Last for now is MAI-Code-1-Flash, our new inference efficient coding model, especially tuned for VS Code and GitHub Copilot CLI. - Code-1-Flash achieves 51% on SWE Bench Pro, despite having just 5B parameters, putting it closer to Haiku in size but cheaper in cost. All of this is the foundation for Microsoft Frontier Tuning. It lets you customize our models to create custom, company-specific agents that only you control. You can make our model, your model. Your data. Your agents. Your moat. Early adopters are already seeing a difference. When we tuned our models for McKinsey’s tasks, MAI delivered the highest win rate, outperforming GPT-5.5 on quality, while being 10x lower on cost. Also really excited to be collaborating with the amazing team at Mayo Clinic to jointly train a new frontier AI model for healthcare. Our announcements today mark another milestone on the road to humanist superintelligence. You can learn more and about our other new models in our latest blog: microsoft.ai/news/building-…
