Looking back came a long way, finally got accepted in GSOC 2026 Org: GNU Octave (octave.org) Github id: github.com/beingamanforev… Was fun in grinding OSS along with an ongoing intern 🫡🫡loved the phase, loved the people, loved the grind. Kudos to me ✨

Quick update: made meaningful contributions to GNU Octave, github.com/gnu-octave/sta… and github.com/gnu-octave/sta… . Improved the HNSW build and query time by a factor of 4x-5x

A lot of folks from my TL got selected for GSoC this year, proud of every single one. But I also saw strong contributors, people who shipped real PRs and understood the codebase and get rejected. The reason wasn't code. It was the proposal or how they communicated with mentors. So after burning a lot of tokens, I built GsocDex a curated archive of accepted GSoC proposals. no signup required. GSoC 2026 results just dropped. 1141 people were selected out of 15k+ applicants As for me, I completely wasted the first 2 years of my degree not taking things seriously 🥹. This year, I didn't even apply because I'm still in my learning phase But that’s exactly why I'm building in public now. My dream is to get selected for GSoC '27 (my final year). Next year, we're in 🫡
