33 of our students achieved below Grade 4 in summer 2023 out of a cohort of 207. We know they are going to struggle with Maths GCSE from early on. I am desperate to know what other schools do with their bottom set? Has anyone trialled an alternative qualification?? Please RT

@onechriswhite @1stclassmaths The government states a pass is Grade 4. It’s the demoralisation students face being told they’ve failed, just before entering the next stage in their life, that I have the issue with. I wonder if schools would adopt functional skills if it contributed to progress.

@bethangray3 @1stclassmaths Any alternative qualifications are usually aimed at below grade 1. Is a grade 1 to 3 at GCSE not seen as worthy?
