The problem with Bitmap Parcels is that a direct child would mean anyone who wants to distribute parcels means they have to inscribe the parcels to themselves.
At scale this is prohibitively expensive. 10’s of thousands of dollars just to parcelize per bitmap!
Or you can send that bitmap to a platform like Mscribe to produce parcels for you, but you would have to trust that platform with your valuable bitmap. At scale this opens up to threat actors that would be there to just take your bitmaps.
LDE uses child-authorization inscription, this is a trustless form that gives a platform the authority to parcelize a bitmap on behalf of the owner of the bitmap without the prohibitive cost. The JSON was about $1.80 to inscribe and send to a platform like Mscribe.
Child-auth means that no one has to send a bitmap anywhere, but instead can send an authorization to a platform, as a child inscription of that bitmap, to parcelize a bitmap. The authorization will be used as the parent to produce the children parcels establishing an on chain provenance between the parent bitmap and the children parcels through the authorization inscription.
If the owner decides to sell their parcels, all the payment goes directly to the bitmap holder’s address.
As a result, a bitmap owner can offer their parcels at cost or for free (+platforms fee 🫵) through LDE tech.
We carried this out already for 716472.bitmap and over 500 parcels have been generated and more development has been done on a single bitmap in 2 days compared to the last 18 months of bitmap combined.
This method has been a success and looking forward to making this tech accessible for anyone looking to create a community on bitmap in a 3d environment.
