It's here! Friends, bitmap.land on-chain is live (ish). With full District and Parcel functionality! Technically it's still in the mempool, and it's going to take a long time to fully inscribe at 0.1s/vb, but that's okay, in the meantime I just set the domain to redirect to the ordpool.space preview source! 😉 I wanted to make a point to spend as little as possible (in this case, $2.87) as a one-time fee on a website that was costing hundreds per month to host, and with this workaround, you can spend as little as you want AND still point to it with your domain name before it's even mined. Cheap and instant. I'll update the redirect to ordinals.com when the block clears, but that's just semantics. Right now you can enjoy bitmap.land! For the on-chain version I removed all communication features for now.

@brucefenton You wanna know who the centralized evil power is that is against spam? Most of the fucking network. The only debate was whether fees are enough to stop it. We (20% of the network) don’t believe fees are enough so we run Knots + BIP-110.

Seems that the flaw with BIP 110 is that it tries to censor non financial transactions from Bitcoin. The problem with censorship is that it ends up leading to centralized power of those who decide what should be censored.

i'm a cypherpunk, and have been running nodes since 1990s. exit remailers, tor, file sharing, bitcoin nodes. p2p networks don't exist unless people with mettle run nodes. filter bippers are weak leeches, scared to p2p, demanding to censor to make nodes "safe" for the weak to run.

@blockamoto If Bitmap and SatMap are two different ways of exploring the same underlying territory, what unique property does Bitmap preserve that SatMap intentionally doesn’t?

Today's codex prompt. Something I've been thinking about a lot. Satmap is bitmap, without the bitmap. It's simply a map of sats. I have to do this for my own sanity, and to figure out how much of bitmap is narrative over functionality. Does bitmap survive if sats do it better?

This was either a very stupid or very cruel move, to publicly name a bitcoin developer and not only claim that she lacked knowledge but also dox her personal finances, in an interview where she wasn't present to give her own perspective. And the irony being that Jeff is not somebody with deep technical knowledge of how Bitcoin works as software. Who does that? Just say you run Knots, and leave other people out of it. Or learn something about how code actually works and voice your own opinion about it. Very bad way to go 😒
