@NeverTrumpTexan @13_magpie @planetJoseph That would be an interesting argument if there were not ample cases of bishops and stake presidents burying cases where the victim is the reporter. As it is, it feels disingenuous.

@13_magpie @planetJoseph There is a school of thought that thinks mandating clergy report REDUCES the likelihood of confession, preventing intervention and perpetuating abuse. Ultimately, I think mandating that clergy report is worth it, but it is not without tradeoffs.

I know many of you want it to be, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not a good church. It’s not even a good social organization. Worse, it’s more than Not Good, it’s often very bad. I don’t reach these conclusions lightly. It doesn’t pass the 13th AoF test.

@jlericson I can’t believe I never realized until today that the spam detection was always a community contribution. In retrospect I don’t know if that was laziness or greed, but it seems like one of many important things that should have received more official investment.
