For every 1 SF dude that leans left (and even then every single one I’ve ever met has just been socially left, not militarily or even economically) there are 100 SF dudes that are conservatives or libertarians. Honestly, I’ve never met a far left SF guy. Ever. We are free thinkers, but we are also staunch constitutionalists. We signed up to teach the world how to be more like us. This is just reality.

SNAP and Medicaid aren’t disappearing. Families who truly need help — children, seniors, the disabled — keep getting it. What’s being asked is that healthy, working-age adults contribute something rather than sit back and treat government assistance as a career path. That’s not cruelty — that’s common sense. And this idea that every reform equals a “tax break for millionaires” is your party’s favorite bedtime story. Funny how you never mention the fact that bloated welfare rolls cost taxpayers billions and trap people in dependency instead of helping them transition to independence. Incentivizing work and self-sufficiency is exactly what prevents generational poverty. So no, Mazie, asking people to get a job, take a class, or do something productive is not a crime. Unless, of course, your political strategy depends on keeping voters hooked on government checks.

Republicans attempt to justify their vote to cut SNAP and Medicaid by claiming it’s fiscally responsible. The reality is, they cut the essential programs that keep American families afloat just to hand out tax breaks to millionaires. It's as simple as that.
