Under the Constitution, the separation of powers is clear: Congress has the power to declare war. The President, as Commander in Chief, has the power to command the military in a war that Congress has authorized. With respect to the war in Iran, authorization has neither been sought by the President nor granted by Congress. The President cannot constitutionally wage war without congressional authorization unless the nation has been attacked, is under attack, or faces an imminent attack. None of those conditions is present here. For too long, we have operated under a theory of presidential war powers so open-ended that it lacks anything resembling a limiting principle. The issue before us is not Democrat versus Republican, nor progressive versus conservative. It is Congress versus the President. It is Article I versus Article II. The Founders did not declare independence 250 years ago to replace one king with another. Nor did the Framers intend for the Commander in Chief to wield the unilateral war-making authority of an 18th-century English monarch. The notion that a President can plunge the United States into a regional war in one of the most volatile places on earth—without even briefing Congress, much less securing its authorization—is irreconcilable with the text, structure, and history of the Constitution. Instead of playing second fiddle to an imperial presidency, Congress must reclaim its rightful place as the first branch of government—exactly as the Founders intended. We are Article I for a reason. It is time we start acting like it.

A woman walked up to the counter with a bottle of wine, clearly annoyed when the cashier asked for her ID. She insisted she was “obviously old enough” and refused to show it, arguing that the request was unnecessary. The cashier calmly explained it was store policy to card anyone purchasing alcohol. Instead of complying, she caused a scene and demanded a manager. Age verification isn’t personal, it’s about compliance with the law. Cashiers can lose their jobs or face fines for skipping that step. Sometimes the quickest way out of a situation is simply showing the ID and moving on. If a store has a clear ID policy, should it ever be optional based on how old someone looks?

@DrAlmarielao My concern with this practice is they are tracking your alcohol purchases through scanning your driver's license. It's an invasion of privacy.

At Miami International Airport in Miami, travelers were left stunned when a woman allegedly began smashing several computers inside one of the airport terminals. Witnesses say she appeared frustrated before suddenly knocking over monitors and damaging equipment used for check-ins. Airport security quickly stepped in, and she was later arrested. Airports are already high-stress environments, but destroying property puts staff, passengers, and travel operations at risk. No matter how upset someone feels, there’s a line, and once it’s crossed, consequences are inevitable. When frustration boils over in a public place like an airport, should there be zero tolerance for destructive behavior no matter the reason?

I find it interesting how the people who are actually living and or have lived under oppression are happy about the US killing a theocratic violent murderous dictator, but the left is "mad". The left doesn't really want to stand with oppressed people like they say. They just want to oppose our country and republicans.

Look who’s playing in the Vermont State Semifinal tonight! It’s the Christian school that forfeited in 2023 vs. a male player—and were then expelled from the league. Three years and one big legal victory later, they’re back. Best of luck, ladies! You’ve already made us proud.

We are sending our kids to school to memorize facts that AI can retrieve in 0.3 seconds. We're grading them on essays that AI writes better than their teachers. We're preparing them for jobs that won't exist by the time they graduate. The entire education system is training humans to compete with machines at what machines do best. That's not education. That's sabotage. The schools that survive will teach thinking, not memorizing. Creating, not repeating. Discerning, not obeying. Every other school is a museum that doesn't know it yet.

"If you disagree with what the government is doing, stay silent until they finish doing it." That's just about the most un-American sentiment you could possibly express. It's also the same bullshit emotional blackmail that's been used to silence the critics of every terrible policy in my lifetime, from covid to Iraq and beyond. I'm not falling for it.
Bias Breaker@Menachem675551

No one is asking you to change your mind or become pro-this war, but can you shut up for a couple of days? Your vocal critic opinions aren’t benefiting us right now in any way, and you’re only undermining this operation. Once it’s ongoing, your criticism isn’t changing anything anymore. If you want to do what’s clearly best for our country, stay silent on the matter until this is over, and then state all your vocal criticisms.
