Its only really good for dev reasons, so you understand your game and who it is for better

@LudensLudonauta a lot of us aren't in it for the money. sure you need money to keep repeating the process, but you also need to actually ship and hope it sells first. if you make games focusssed purely on money you A) will hate doing it B) create souless slop that burries other titles

Most people in the industry (with most exceptions being "indie devs" who came from AAA studios) have no idea how to run a business.
Doubt me? Ask 100 indie devs their game business model / business model canvas. You'll be surprised if more than a dozen ever heard about that.

@lunarchstudios @GreyNovGames I feel like you just have to be insane about it. Push yourself so hard that the chance of failure becomes statistically impossible. If you refuse to give up something is bound to give eventually

@GreyNovGames Game dev is a bit like a tech startup where you need an insane level of optimism to be able to push through the negative feedback and low odds of success. It selects for people who never give up, and those people are thus your competitors.

I think most feedback is valuable. Definently not all of it. I've seen and have some ruthless reviews. Totally unneccessary bashing doesn't help anyone.

@ground_ga Just out of interest cus I'm also developing something, but why would a publisher ever advise you to not drop a demo. It's seems like a great way to generate hype and interest in the game?? 😭

@LukeStephens Not a studio. Just a dev. But fuck no, I don't endorse it and I'd like to think many other devs don't either. Pointless ass feature. This is for game directors and publishers who believe that realism is everything and are way out of touch with art direction

@LegoKingo I feel like re9 was designed to be played in 3rd person completely and they added in the first person mode later

first person cam as grace is the way to go when on your first playthrough but they put so much character into her third person animations that I've stuck to that mode in my subsequent playthroughs
