If the US pause while Iran maintains some level of disruption, does the pressure flip ? China, Korea, Japan, India, Europe & the GCC all become directly incentivized to force flows back online ! Partial restrictions (e.g. US/Israeli vessels) are manageable I would think… So a unilateral victory could actually restart flows & shift pressure to RoW to get the Strait moving ! I've never felt this much behind as a programmer. The profession is being dramatically refactored as the bits contributed by the programmer are increasingly sparse and between. I have a sense that I could be 10X more powerful if I just properly string together what has become available over the last ~year and a failure to claim the boost feels decidedly like skill issue. There's a new programmable layer of abstraction to master (in addition to the usual layers below) involving agents, subagents, their prompts, contexts, memory, modes, permissions, tools, plugins, skills, hooks, MCP, LSP, slash commands, workflows, IDE integrations, and a need to build an all-encompassing mental model for strengths and pitfalls of fundamentally stochastic, fallible, unintelligible and changing entities suddenly intermingled with what used to be good old fashioned engineering. Clearly some powerful alien tool was handed around except it comes with no manual and everyone has to figure out how to hold it and operate it, while the resulting magnitude 9 earthquake is rocking the profession. Roll up your sleeves to not fall behind.

I turned to a wise old poet for answers to daily debates in our industry, since I couldn’t answer in so many years . This is what he had to say It’s your future. Don’t build it on debates where any answer is right or wrong & hence can be justified. Don’t keep asking for best four funds. Best fund manager for tomorrow. Index or active. Large cap or smal caps speed. NFO or battle tester old funds. Direct or with an MFD. India or world. Gold or silver. Buy now or after the crash. Buy when three-year returns are high or low. All noise. You get paid every month.
Take some of that money.
Send it to the market every month. Buy units. Same day. Same amount. SIP.
No thinking. Until you are sure you can pick few rare manager who will beat the index for the next twenty years, don’t be paralysed for action. Start first with the index. It wins most of the time. If you want more than the index, find one good advisor or MFD you trust. 
Let him pick three strong funds run by three strong (wo)men.
Then leave them alone.
Ten years. Twenty.
Keep sending the money every month. The market is a river.
Some swim against it and drown.
Most drift.
A few ride the current. Ride the current.
Send the money.
Wait.
That is all. You don’t need clever answers. You need habits, that are right & you follow. Search. Not just for the best investment. But before that, the best investor (unit collector) in you.
