CONNOR TO LEON FOR THE W! 💥
After tying the game late, the @EdmontonOilers grab the full 2 points thanks to their @SUBWAYCanada OT winner.

@batkins67 @NHL eichel is a champion middavid isn’t
English

@myousiif10 @leafssince67 @BigHeadHcky that's what I'm saying
take away mcdavid they will still have the art ross winner
English

@Omar28924474380 @AppaGarg @RobertFreundLaw @MichaelDCheek nah dude I'm just trying to explain to you the anecdotal fallacy. using limited personal experience to make sweeping conclusions is a very common fallacy
English

@RobertFreundLaw @MichaelDCheek I have never once, not even one time, ordered ice cream from McDonald's and been told the machine was broken, or down, or even being cleaned. It's been literally 100% across the board for me.
Try that in a large town
English

@Omar28924474380 @AppaGarg @RobertFreundLaw @MichaelDCheek literally 4 mcdonalds with broken ice cream machines in palm beach right now.
not many more neighborhoods are more expensive than palm beach

English

@BigHeadHcky reason that using stanley cup as a measurement for individual success is really stupid
English

Where the last 10 cup winners' leading scorer in the reg season finished in P/PG:
2023 VGK — Eichel (41st)
2022 COL — Mackinnon (7th)
2021 TBL — Point (33rd)
2020 TBL — Kucherov (8th)
2019 STL — O'Reilly (44th)
2018 WSH — Ovechkin (15th)
2017 PIT — Crosby (2nd)
2016 PIT — Crosby (4th)
2015 CHI — Kane (4th)
2014 LAK — Kopitar (29th)
It's surprisingly rare for the best scorers in the league to win a ring.

@sharintaint @GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext also for this specific chair, i would much rather use 50cm and 82cm than 19 5/8" and 32 1/4 in"
English

@defnot_basil @GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext I have that chair lol. Idk man, still seems imperfect. You can make it work but inches is so much better for this stuff.
English

@sharintaint @GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext it's mainly the older folks having issue in canada. the young people I know all mostly use metric pretty much in every situation
The British has a weird national pride toward imperial as the inventor so they like to keep it around and US barely tried to convert to metric
English

@defnot_basil @GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext I mean a lot of dual measurement countries have their issues with metric. USA, Canada, and the UK have pretty strong opinions on where and when to use which system and you'd have a hard time getting them to stick to just metrics.
English

@sharintaint @GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext I have used both systems my whole life. the reason you think inches is better is because you are used to it. once you get used to metric. they are the same.
English

@defnot_basil @GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext If every time I try to measure something I have to go 2-3 decimal places because jumps between whole numbers are so massive then that's a bad measurement system. The difference between a midget and the average basketball player is 0.6 meters. That's too imprecise.
English

@sharintaint @GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext you are not hearing me
there are 7.5 billion active users and no one is complaining. it's such an insignificant reason go against the whole world
I grew up with both in canada and I can tell you saying 16 kilometers away and 10 miles away makes no difference
English

@defnot_basil @GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext I mean that's an empirical fact. The point of measurements is to accurately convey information. If your measurements are based on arbitrary mathematic calculations it's gonna be more accurate for scientific applications but absolutely horrible for human scale.
English

@sharintaint @GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext as your neighbor to the north, i can tell you 7.5 billion people outside of US are currently using metric and no one thinks that.
The reason you think celsius is too big and km is too small is because you are used to fahrenheit and miles. that's it.
English

@GigaS3XY @HumansNoContext We should use metric for scientific measurements but it's so annoying for everything else. Kilos are way too big to use for measuring weights, Celsius is also too big, km is too small for measuring long distances, the gap between cm and meters is insane. It's not human scale.
English

@Wolfpack77516 @EdmontonOilers @NHL @cmcdavid97 @PR_NHL @NHLPA NHL fans celebrating player achievements challenge (impossible)

🏆🏆🏆🏆
McDavid becomes just the second player in @NHL history (Ovechkin, 2008) to win the Hart, Lindsay, Rocket & Art Ross in the same season since the goal-scoring award was established in 1999.

@_ReddDotMedia @SexyCarnotaurus @LegionHoops some people find basketball more fun and some find soccer/football more fun.
that's it. it's not that deep
English

@SexyCarnotaurus @LegionHoops Ctfu, what about being masculine isn’t fun
English

@mouthp1ece_ @JohnnyNewYork3 @NHL @DKSportsbook To put that point percentages into context, that's like saying a 127 pts team is worse than a 113 pts team.
You can say playoff is different. But statistically Oilers have been better than rangers & carolina recently. Hard to say "it's mind boggling" that they place them higher
English

@mouthp1ece_ @JohnnyNewYork3 @NHL @DKSportsbook Even if we say the east is stronger, the oilers played a pretty even 17 east teams and 18 west teams in the same time period. They just have been red hot for the past 3 months
English

@JohnnyNewYork3 @NHL @DKSportsbook The Oilers been the best team in the league since Jan 10. You can make a good case they are at least top 2 with the bruins as of late.
So putting the oilers ahead of those 3 using recent performance i feel is understandable

English

@NHL @DKSportsbook Oilers and Toronto ahead of the rangers, Tampa and the Devils is mind boggling
