I think some peer review may have been helpful to inform the authors that #SSI architecture is not hard-linked to blockchain/ledgers. While ledgers/chains have a place in many implementation the #SSI approaches moved on from that being a design requirement years ago. “Trust me” we have a solution for trust management say @giusdemarc and @selfissued. Trust management is such a hot topic at the moment for many global initiatives like #gain at @openid foundation, trust registry task force at @trustoverip, EIDAS 2, @UNDP and many others.
