Havenโ€™t made videos since Fridayโ€ฆ Spent time instead freaking out about a biopsy Iโ€™m getting tomorrow in my chest๐Ÿ˜ญ I donโ€™t talk about my health publicly but figured Iโ€™d do it because health issues are isolating and they shouldnโ€™t be. Hopefully back to normal by Tuesday!

The issue of Dragon magazine that published a D&D character generator as code in BASIC was issue #74 (June 1983). The article, titled "The DM's Right-Hand Man" by Joseph C. Spann, included a significant BASIC program designed to automate D&D character generation. While earlier issues had discussed the use of computers in gaming and offered smaller programs (e.g., issue #26 discussed general computer use, and issue #80 referenced a "Dungeon Master's Familiar" BASIC program), issue #74 is specifically noted for its extensive character generation software in BASIC. Many readers at the time learned to program by manually typing in and debugging such code from the magazine pages.

@launchany @DungeonNoir Dragon magazine published a D&D character generator as code in Basic. My 1st "programming" was typing that into an Apple II while converting to Apple basic. Years later, after the Navy, I bought my 1st PC & converted it back to MS-basic & expanded it for 1E AD&D.

Oh! I already planning to use your map builder. I have the city builder, and loved it. I was looking for some of your favorite fantasy world maps. Just looking for further inspiration. I have a lot of the features figured out, but I also love maps that tell a story or contain interesting features that players will note.

@dirthippy As in which of my map builder tools work for regional and world maps? Youโ€™d want to use my Fantasy Map Builder mapeffects.co/map-builder If thatโ€™s not what you meant, clarify and hopefully I can help ๐Ÿ˜
