Just tried @dharmesh latest agent, CompanyResearch. Super useful, could replace the meta prompt I use for research. Love custom questions, without that it would be useless to me. Caveat: results are subpar. Should switch to grok or perplexity for latest/more accurate answers

Day 23 of making jump rope sessions more fun. Added sound effects, counter for premium jumps, and… a boost gauge (because why not?!)

@samraaj no crossovers yet but I think I will keep the power gauge

note: even at 60fps and with extra interpolated frames gemini 2.5 pro has a hard time counting the jumps accurately. I might switch to a more traditional CV method in the future. Last bit with the kangaroo was generated using nano banana and kling 2.1

give me a score and add bonus points for tricks like: basic skip/boxer - 1 pts side swings - 5 pts each crossovers - 20pts each southpaw - 10pts each swing cross - 25pts each double unders - 30 pts each footwork switches like running man, single legs, straddles or sweeps should just accumulate 2 pts a pop. Then give me a live counter for the score for the whole session and highest score "streak" which is score accumulation before a miss

used gemini 2.5 pro to build a jump counter. tested it on 1 min, but the goal is to make it fun for an hour-long session

@wispierdev sure! my point was that there are ways to solve this correctly in 2025 and search in a notes app is a basic feature that should get proper treatment

@douill Throwing a search query at Gemini for processing is a terrible, terrible approach at scale, it'll be slow and cost a ton. RAG/embeddings are the correct way to build a search, they might just not be embedding your notes properly.

Evernote “ai-powered” search is terrible. Couldn’t find an old note after 20 tries so I exported the whole notebook in html, threw it in Gemini (HUGE context window) and it found the note in one shot. That’s so basic. No RAG, nothing fancy. Just one API call. What are they doing?
