@ShaneOliverAMP Albo and Chalmers have a big problem now: The fuel crisis will hit Australia’s economy hard, And Federal Labor has no money left to fund a stimulus package.

At least there were two good stats on inflation in the February CPI: there were less items with inflation above 3% & more with inflation below 2% & it was the lowest seasonally adjusted mthly rise in the trimmed mean since July last yr. The War has rendered it ancient history tho

@GovCanHealth Australia (with 2/3 population of Canada) has just 3 opioid-related deaths per day. Canada’s deaths remain THREE times higher, per capita. Why doesn’t @GovCanHealth call out the politicians whose “hand out hard drugs” policies led to these deaths?

Nationally, we continue to see a meaningful decrease in opioid-related deaths – the lowest 12-month total since before the pandemic. From Oct 2024 to Sept 2025, there were 5,724 opioid-related deaths in Canada. ow.ly/JYjG50YyIbU

@BaronBurleigh2 @AlboMP You ain’t seen nothin: Canberra’s Mt Ainslie will become a hilltop, marble, fountain-surrounded Presidential Palace. A crack regiment of 200 Presidential Guards will be recruited, armed with AK47s. And the Presidential Boeing 787 will have its own terminal at Canberra Airport.

I am waiting for @AlboMP to announce the referendum (rigged) removing the Monarchy and introducing Bill Shorten as the President on a $2,000,000 a year package including personal private jet for a 5 year period elected by the incumbent political party with the PM having the deciding vote. Coming soon.

Canadians are literally being assessed for euthanasia over the medical equivalent of a Zoom meeting. The @cpso_ca even describes online witnessing to death requests as "virtual care." This is so dark.

@ausvstheagenda Nothing makes a left-wing politician happier than to introduce new restrictions on personal freedom. It’s in their DNA. Socialism is all about control - to protect the State.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is set to convene national cabinet next Monday to discuss ‘voluntary mandates’ such as work-from-home arrangements, public transport use and carpooling. Stay home, stay safe — 2020. Stay home, save petrol — 2026.

@AmandaAchtman @cpso_ca Joseph Heller’s famous “Catch 22” unfortunately applies to patients seeking to die, as much as it did to USAF pilots seeking to go on another sortie in WW2: If you’re “mad” enough to want to go ahead, you’re probably not fit to do so. And vice versa.

Every MAID request demonstrates "a risk of suicidality." Stop "advising the profession" that there's such a thing as "rational" suicide, @cpso_ca.

Here's an interesting image I came across recently which shows the top 10 countries with the largest average home sizes, with Australia coming in number 1 at 214 sqm. What is interesting is that the top 4 places are all taken up by the Anglosphere excluding the United Kingdom which comes in at 17th place with an average home size of 88 sqm. It's also interesting to note how much the average home size falls off after 4th place Canada (181 sqm) to 5th place Luxembourg (140 sqm). No wonder the Anglosphere countries at the top of the list have some of the most expensive housing in the world however, size doesn't necessarily dictate cost with expensive markets such as the United Kingdom (88 sqm), Hong Kong (45 sqm) and Singapore (71 sqm) having much smaller home sizes. I think this also highlights that smaller higher density dwellings are not a direct substitute for many home owners who want and desire more space. The lower cost and superior location of a smaller higher density dwelling may be appealing for some but I suspect many will continue to preference sacrificing on location for space. Where we are in the current building cycle and where prices sit, if the choice is between an outer suburb house with a larger floor area or a inner-suburb unit with a smaller floor area the price differential may be little or none but the size differential is obviously going to be substantial. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

@Whats_Newsss The big problem with ethnic enclaves is that, fairly soon, they want to take on self-governing. That includes new laws - say, on child marriage, gays, blasphemy - not acceptable to wider community.

So the NSW Police are now basically promoting the idea of ethnically divided enclaves in Australia... People need to realise that the metanarrative has changed from that of assimilation to DIVERSITY and INCLUSION. These words contradict the idea of assimilation. One means that we must embrace the divide, and the other means we must embrace the "other" to include what is excluded via social norms, i.e., language. This has been the unspoken agreement since the 70s. The government is now trying to force you to accept it as normal.

Moments like this tells you about leadership. The Tories and Reform would have rushed us into the conflict in the Middle East without thinking through the consequences it would have for British people. My Labour government will always make decisions in the national interest.

@SeddSezz So, here’s the thing: If staff are told not to interact with shoplifters, the thieves get bolder. What if they then steal cash? What if they rob other customers? What if they set fire to @coopuk store? You have to draw a line - and the later you draw it, the harder to enforce

🚨Co-op threatens to SACK staff who TACKLE shoplifters Staff at Coop have been warned that they'll face disciplinary action if they PREVENT shoplifters from stealing goods. What the hell are the staff there for if not to prevent items being stolen?! Is Co-op all for petty crime? Hire more security if you want to keep your staff safe. Don't threaten them with disciplinary action!

@ComAcFreedom Disagree. Whole point of a university is that each member of it (staff or student) feels they can say what they believe to be true and useful to say. That’s how the world moves forward. Leaders of universities should have interesting things to say - and not be held back.

Committee for Academic Freedom
University leaders should think carefully before making political comments that could be taken to speak for their institutions, according to Professor Arif Ahmed, the Office for Students’ director for freedom of speech and academic freedom. Speaking at a Westminster Education Forum conference, Ahmed drew a distinction between the rights of individual academics and the position of senior leaders or institutions themselves. Academics, he said, “absolutely have the right to express political views”, which are “essential for a university to function”. But different considerations apply where senior management teams, or universities in their institutional capacity, make public interventions on politically contested matters. @IsabelOakeshott Seems likely @Keir_Starmer only has another two months as PM. His own Cabinet are jockeying to replace him. Let him enjoy that time. History, sadly, is unlikely to be kind to him - regardless of who writes it. Just not cut out for the difficult and intimidating job.

The 1973 oil crisis precipitated France's nuclear rollout: the largest and most rapid deployment of nuclear power the world has ever seen. ⚛️🇫🇷 French energy in 1973: 🛢️ Oil = 67 per cent ⚛️ Nuclear = 2 per cent French energy in 2003: 🛢️ Oil = 36 per cent ⚛️ Nuclear = 39 per cent Will Australia learn this lesson from history, instead of saying it takes too long and costs too much? I would rather we were France and embraced energy security, with all our options this should be a no brainer.

@AmandaAchtman @cpso_ca Patient preference when life and death matters are raised is highly variable: Some like to be alone. Many prefer their next of kin to be with them. Some like to have an advocate, such as a nurse they trust. Some don’t want to talk about it at all - even if family do.

Look at this creepy recommendation to isolate a patient and make sure they're all alone while a doctor or nurse discusses euthanasia with them. This is professional advice from the @cpso_ca. Euthanasia assessors and providers ARE the undue influence.

@AmandaAchtman @cpso_ca There are multiple issues with not including MAID details on death certificates. First, the process condones leaving other key details off too. Second, audit of MAID is affected. Third, life expectancy of people with condition X cannot be determined accurately.
