I see a lot of people hating on Edward for how he treats Will and about this question that was setup directly against him. They think he is a "hater" of Will's. But, that isn't true. Edward is actually looking out for Will by trying to not set him up to be a failure or a subject that people use to test on and just use. Edward knows the struggles of climbing the tower and how hard and dangerous that will be for someone unable to use Magic like Will. He is actually showing him a kindness, just in his own form. So no, he is not a hater at all. He is just a tough teacher that is actually looking out for a student, even if you think how he does it is mean.
