🇭🇺🔴A Budapest court has sentenced 25-year-old far-left German activist Maja T. to 8 years in prison for violent attacks orchestrated by the left-wing extremist Hammer Gang. The gang arrived in Hungary and severely beat 9 individuals in February 2023 with batons, hammers and pepper spray. They believed their targets were attending a far-right demonstration, but it turned out that a number of them had nothing to do with any political activity. The court found that Maja T. and others followed their targeted victims in groups, wearing masks, and brutally beat their victims, resulting in significant injuries and fractures. This verdict is the first instance and not yet final.

2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣ was a watershed year for Europe & 🇭🇺 Hungary. 👉 For the 1st time, on a strategic issue as fundamental as the war in Ukraine, the 🇺🇲 U.S. & the 🇪🇺 European political elite moved onto opposing tracks. ‼️With @realDonaldTrump taking office, Washington shifted toward peace, while Brussels chose to continue the war. In his year-end interview, 🇭🇺 @PM_ViktorOrban looked ahead & defined what is at stake in 2026: whether Hungary maintains its policy of staying out, or joins Brussels’ war-driven decisions. 💡Throughout the year, while the U.S. explored ways to end the conflict, Brussels stayed on the pro-war track—and pushed harder. ➡️ Weapons, war loans, and a shift toward a wartime economy.❗️Today, Europe’s political center is no longer about peace maneuvers, but about preparing for war: in budgets, in policy, and in conditioning society for it. ⚠️ In this environment, Hungary had to maneuver. Not to drift, not to conform, but to hold a sovereign course based on national interests. That was the choice in 2025: whether to enter a pro-war community increasingly confined to Europe, or to preserve the policy of staying out—accepting all its political consequences. Together, these measures reflect a choice to invest in the Hungarian people, not in war. 👉 This is not a debate between two technical options, but a choice between two fundamentally different futures. 🪖💥The logic of a wartime economy is simple: it drains resources from the future and burns them in the present conflict. A peace economy, by contrast, builds time, stability, and predictability—through families, work, and investment. 👉 War consumes the present; peace builds the future. And this leads directly to 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣. 🇭🇺 Hungary will hold parliamentary elections next year, but the decision goes far beyond domestic politics. Voters will decide whether #Hungary continues on an independent, national-interest-based path, or aligns itself with Brussels’ war logic. 👉 Staying out or joining in. Moving closer to peace or deeper into escalation. ❗️Hungary’s choice will also matter for Europe. ➡️ If the voice of peace remains strong in Hungary in 2026, it can resonate more strongly across the continent as well. That is what we will work for: not further drift toward war, but finally beginning to maneuver toward paths that lead to peace‼️
