This is a very unethical use of taxpayer dollars by Nathaniel Erskine-Smith. This paid ad is on the west side of the street of Victoria Park Avenue, where he is currently the Liberal MP. But he is now seeking the provincial Liberal nomination for the riding that starts on the east side of the street, three metres away. This is a new ad, it hasn’t been there for long. Why pay for an ad here when there are many sign locations more central in his riding that will see be seen by far more of his actual constituents? And why pay for a new ad now when he’s made it clear he doesn’t intend to stick around for long to serve those federal constituents?

The Toronto Police Association fundamentally opposes the Solicitor General’s plan for the OPP to take over some policing in Toronto. This includes traffic safety on our major arterial routes and Mounted and Marine functions at Ontario Place and along its waterfront.   We believe this is a gross overreach which will develop a fragmented system, hurting both the city and our members.   Our official position and specific requests are outlined in the attached correspondence.
