Today, at the 27th Annual Ontario Police Memorial Foundation's Ceremony of Remembrance, we stood alongside our policing partners to pay tribute to the brave men and women who lost their lives in the line of duty. Every badge number represents an officer who embodied an unwavering commitment to safety. Every name represents a person who brought courage and dedication to their service. Our thoughts are with their families, friends, and colleagues as we honour the legacy they leave behind. We will remember them always. #HeroesInLife

Today, we recognize #FirstRespondersDay and honour those who step forward when others need it most. From emergencies to everyday uncertainty, first responders serve our communities without hesitation, often at great personal risk. It was an honour to represent over 8,800 members at the Senate Committee in Ottawa to advocate for stronger bail and sentencing reform. Every opportunity to share real experiences with political leaders helps us reinforce why Bill C-14 is critical to strengthening public safety.

Thank you, Premier @fordnation, for drawing further attention to the legislation Canadians need. We strongly support the swift passage of Bill C-14. That is why earlier today, President @TPACampbell appeared before the Senate Committee to reinforce our position on bail and sentencing reform and call for stronger measures. It is time to put public safety first. Our communities deserve nothing less.

With our letter to Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and Premier @fordnation in February, to our meetings this week in Ottawa, the TPA has long called on all levels of government to recognize the unique pressures our members face. Thank you to Minister @gary_srp for hearing us and investing directly in Toronto and in the safety and security of the City as we host the FIFA World Cup. But FIFA is one event in a city that faces these pressures year-round. It is our hope today’s funding announcement will be followed by others from both the federal and provincial governments.

🎥 Advocacy in motion. And we’re not slowing down. This week, the TPA was in Ottawa for the Canadian Police Association’s Lobby Days, meeting with government officials and making our priorities clear. Representing our members’ voices at the highest levels is a responsibility we take seriously, and we are proud to remain actively engaged in the political space. Through every discussion, we continue working to strengthen public safety across our communities. #TPAProud
