@gauravsabnis I think Meghalaya, Mizo, Nagaland, Sikkim do truly. Bengal beyond the fan base of the 2 giants I doubt. Kerala football fan base is fickle, more in for the splendor and thrill which to be fair Keralite love even if their local team provides it not just Brazil or Argentina.





The two biggest reasons cricket became popular in India: 1. Very Very little competition, so it achieved success easily, which pushed the delusion among Indians that they were world-class. 2. The hype around India–Pakistan matches, which was directly linked to nationalism and other sentiments. This further embedded the idea that cricket = nationalism. Ask your parents , grandparents and elders Football was way more popular in india before 1983 world cup. But the fluke win because of very low competition made india think they are world class in something
