@greatguy101 @KryptKeeper21 By this logic Karloff's Mummy isn't a Mummy either cause it is never stated that his organs were removed (that's the 1999 one), in fact its actually the opposite as he was wrapped in bandages and buried alive which goes back to my point that there are no hard rules in Mummy films

I just saw Lee Cronin's The Mummy, and I really enjoyed it. Loud, tense, intense and pleasantly disgusting, it definitely was in the veins of Evil Dead. With an 'Exorcist' style and vibe to it as well, it does seem like a mishmash of movies with some mummy lore. 8.5/10 ๐Ÿ”ช๐Ÿฉธ

@greatguy101 @KryptKeeper21 Remember the "Mummy" creature in fiction doesn't necessarily equate 1:1 to mummies irl. The concept was born out of 1920s Lovecraftian pulps/supposed real curses on egyptologists. There aren't hard rules and every movie has a different take on what a mummy actually is

@greatguy101 @KryptKeeper21 The mummy itself is basically irrelevant..."the curse" is more important, its power comes from the pact that is made with a demon/god of death, its just a vessel. Katie was literally mummified in a sacrophagus for 8 years and is a vessel for an Egyptian demon...that's a mummy ๐Ÿคฆ

@greatguy101 @KryptKeeper21 A mummy (in film) is just an Egyptian demon or supernatural zombie (basically a deadite) that possesses people and makes them do things against their will. That's it. Even the original Mummy has Boris Karloff wearing "the bandages" for about a minute.

@nonstopslasher @Columned_ She wasnโ€™t embalmed. She had black conjuring juice shoved in her mouth, and then wrapped in bandages. She had a heartbeat, Her organs were all functional.

Looks like it thatโ€™s time of the year again when insecure Star Wars tourists come out to praise The Last Jedi.

Brandon Sanderson explains why Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi is so bad: "The bad stuff in [The Last Jedi] is so bad. The fact that it is a slow paced chase through space in a world where people have FTL travel. Like, why are the enemy slowly chasing this convoy. Why? This isn't a plot hole. I sat in the theater. I'm like, 'Warp ahead of them.' ... 'Lightspeed. Lightspeed ahead of them.' ... I'm okay with the dropping bombs even though it's dumb and makes you be like, 'Wait. What?' But what bothers me is the pacing and the plotting makes no sense. The story makes no sense. Luke is the travesty. The salt planet's cool looking." Is he just touching the tip of the iceberg here? What else makes this movie so bad?
