@VanIsleInvestor There were about 20 LNG projects being considered in 2014. Natgas prices cycle like every other commodity so price dips are normal. The answer is to build when supply costs are low. Only the big players like Shell can take the risk when there are massive regulatory burdens.

Which demographics of Canadians are leaving Canada? >67% of the are 20-44 year olds. >3x more likely to be in Sciences than avg population. >31.1% have a masters degree. >61.4% left to the US. In other words, it's Canada's youngest, most talented and educated population.

They won’t do it, so I will. Who is funding some of the massive “grassroots” Palestinian protests in Canada? They are planning on shutting down Ottawa tomorrow. I’ll tell you exactly who is organizing and funding it. A thread: 1/

This stuff is super well organized... it would be nice if some of the journalists who lied about the trucker Convoy spent some time figuring out who's funding these protests

I could go on here, but I think we’ve seen enough. In short, international organizations are mobilizing affiliates in Canada and around the world and funding these “grassroots” protests under the guise of social justice and wanting a “ceasefire,” causing civil unrest while their partners endorse terrorism. They are powered by a web of intertwined domestic and foreign NGOs and non-profits with poor transparency. Fundraising is extensive and difficult to track. They receive government funding from taxpayers. Their mobs intimidate, harass and harm Jewish communities and their businesses. They don’t respect law and order, and they use confrontations to grow their audiences and their cash flows. And tomorrow, as smoke bombs fill the air amidst chants for “Intifada,”they will shut down our capital. Again. Fin. 30/

@tleehumphrey Trump is not interested in a 3 way deal. He wants separate deals with Canada and Mexico. That is how it will be. There is no more NAFTA. The best they will do is make separate deals then add the 2 stacks of paper into one and call it NAFTA.

History is repeating itself. When NAFTA was being negotiated, initially Trump said Canada wasn’t the problem. The Freeland showed up & tried to turn a trade negotiation into a left wing socialist party & got the boot. The next thing you know Mexico who was the problem has a deal in hand & Freeland is given 24 hours notice to show up in DC to sign the finalized deal & Canada got screwed. Here we go again!

This is the dumbest shit in the world. Canada joining the EU is economic suicide. It would cost billions to join and there would be massive reformation in policy. The EU would control all the regulations, laws & rules. There is over 100,000 pages in regulations and laws that would have to be adopted. Has anyone seen how they treat farmers in the EU? Consider your yields down by 20% overnight and your cattle herd halved. Worst of all it’s like equalization where the wealthiest countries subsidize the poorer ones and Canada would be a net contributor. It would erase billions out of the Canadian economy to subsidize countries with less prosperous economies. You have to be a complete fucking lunatic to want this. Alberta deserves Freedom and does the rest of Canada. Canada is dead.

@Martyupnorth They wanted us to recruit every supporter as canvassers. “If you sign up 3 friends…” That is to be expected. We keep going.

I'm beginning to think that a lot of people signed up to be independence canvassers just to get a souvenir badge, or virtue signal amongst their friends. We planned a major door-knocking event last night, and only 2 volunteers showed up, out of a pool of 120+ (I know it was St. Patrick's day, but still) Disappointing. It's also frustrating to think of the resources spent processing the canvasser, training them, and delivering the sheets and materials necessary to collect signatures, only to have them stay home.

Martyupnorth®- Unacceptable Fact Checker
The number 1 question I get asked by people who come to sign the independence petition is "What are we at? " I don't have an official answer, but I can give you my educated guess based on what I've observed, the data I've personally collected, and some modeling. In our area, we have 125 +/- people collecting signatures. We hold regular zoom calls, and share text messages. I've made a effort to meet as many of them as possible. The top 8 canvassers stand as follows: S. 550 Karen 503 Marty 502 M. 285 L. 240 J. 150 B.R. 125 C. 125 Note: These are numbers they've told me. I'm actually not in charge of collecting the completed forms. So the top 8 alone have nearly 2,500. I've chatted with many others, and I figure our area total is between 4,600-4,800. That corelates with what is called the Pareto principle, which states that 20% of any group, do 80% of the work . Canvassing is arranged according to the 87 electoral ridings. If every riding has collected 4,700 signatures, that would mean that provincially we're over the 400,000 mark. Now keep in mind that, barring an injunction, we still have 47 days to collect signatures. It's 40 days if you consider time to collect and count all the sheets. In any campaign (selling memberships, voting, concert tickets, etc) a large percentage of the activity occurs in the last 2 weeks. Humans are just procrastinators. So my informed opinion is that we'll end up with 350,000 - 450,000 signatures. That's enough to trigger a referendum, but not enough to make sure the outcome can't be rigged. So here's my ask. Get as many people to sign as you can in the next 10 days. What do you think?

Tried out the Honey Mustard Glazed salmon recipe today. It was posted in @AnytimeFitness — Sundance location in Calgary. Used steelhead which is similar to salmon. Caramelized the glaze. Skipped the rice this time. It was delish.

It doesn’t matter where green alarmist policies were deployed - Germany, the UK, Canada or California - they always destroyed the economy. And ironically did ‘net zero’ for the environment as the same global emissions were produced as energy was produced and shipped in from places like Russia to replace the lack of local capacity.
Apple Lamps@lamps_apple

California killed 99% of its drilling permits, closed 46 refineries, and is on track to lose 58,000 oil and gas jobs… all to “fight climate change.” The result? Consumption increased. They just import 64% of their oil now from Iraq, Brazil, and Ecuador, shipped thousands of miles by tanker from countries with worse environmental standards. More oil. More emissions. Fewer American jobs…

Why are Canadians calling for Chief Justice Richard Wagner of the Supreme Court of Canada to recuse himself from the upcoming appeal of the Emergencies Act case? Easy. He's biased. In April 2022 (while the Ottawa protests were ongoing) Chief Justice Wagner made strong public statements criticizing the convoy: * He described it as the start of "anarchy." * He said protesters were holding citizens "hostage." * He reportedly characterized aspects of it in terms like "sedition" in interviews and remarks. These comments came before any full legal determination by any courts on the Act's use. This creates a reasonable apprehension of bias (the legal test for recusal in Canada). Any fair-minded observer might question whether he can impartially hear the appeal, given his pre-judgment of the facts and events central to the case. Question is; will he recuse himself?

So after 11 years, you suddenly decide that Canadian oil & gas is a good thing? Just think of where we would be if you and your former boss Justin hadn't actively opposed the industry.
Dominic LeBlanc@DLeBlancNB

As Canada positions itself as a global energy superpower, partnerships between the federal government and the energy sector are essential to ensuring a strong and sustainable energy future for Canada. In Calgary yesterday, Parliamentary Secretary @coreyhoganyyc and I met with the @OilGasCanada, who represents Canada’s oil and natural gas industry. I also met with @Suncor Energy, one of Canada’s leading oil sands companies. Canadian companies like these create good jobs and help ensure Canadians have a reliable, Canadian energy supply.

And it finds Canada’s fledgling liquefied natural gas (LNG) export sector is set to become a massive driver of future gas production. Under the CER’s baseline scenario — these are not predictions, to be clear, but tools to examine supply and demand outlooks, it shows natural gas production rising to 27 billion cubic feet (bcf) per day by 2050, a 48 per cent jump from 2024 levels. “I think you will see growing calls for Canada to produce more oil,” said Tristan Goodman, president of the Explorers and Producers Association of Canada. “We’re very stable. We have very strong regulations. And, as such, there will be people that will look to other sources, including Canada.”
ChrisVarcoe@ChrisVarcoe

Varcoe: New Canada Energy Regulator outlook says natural gas production will rise 48% by 2050, up to 27 billion cubic feet per day. And LNG exports could make up 20-25% of all CDN gas production by that time. calgaryherald.com/opinion/column… #LNG #ableg #yyc #yeg
