@realalexlains My major issue is the lack of colour I'm seeing in the trailer. That should be the major argument anybody is making, JK Rowling is part of the show so the casting choices hv her support. It's her world to do with as she pleases, but HBO literally took the colour & light away

HBO’s Harry Potter series is the most unnecessary reboot and the most obvious money grab. Race swapping characters, draining color and sucking whimsy out of an adaptation that was never needed in the first place.

@realalexlains It another example of how Hollywood is out of ideas. Too many reboots and sequels. Plus, the diversity checklist is dumb. The race swapping only ever goes one way it seems.

People are comparing it to the movies because it’s only been 15 years since the last one and they are still very popular. Obviously people are going to compare bodies of work when the original adaptation is so beloved. Regardless, even if the films never existed, I’d still be disappointed in the teaser because it did nothing for me.

@realalexlains Your first problem is seeing it as an “iconic movie series”, it’s an iconic book series that had some movie adaptations not an iconic movie series. A key difference. And unfortunately the movies skip so may key parts of the books

@realalexlains Also let’s be clear on something. TV shows like this are a much better way to tell books than movies. Long format has the room to fit much more of the original content in it. I for one will be watching and am not concerned with an unfinished teaser trailer where FX aren’t done

@Caeksy @poe_collector I think this early trailer lacked a lot of magic intentionally. The FX likely aren’t done. And probably a lot to be added yet.

@poe_collector That's actually not the thing that gets to me about it, even though I'm reserving judgement. The beginning of the Harry Potter saga starts far more whimsical and becomes much more serious as it goes on. This trailer seems devoid of the wonder surrounding childhood.

@HBOMaxNews_LA Going to watch it for sure. But the trailer lacked heart and magic. I’m sure the magic lacking was intentional. Fx probably not done yet. But short of Frost who plays Hagrid. Felt pretty dry.

The White House today had a @Figure_robot explain to the world that it will soon be replacing teachers… And it will. It will also replace surgeons, lawyers, pilots, truck drivers, police officers, soldiers and basically every other job. And believe it or not…this is good.
