It’s a place where like-minded people can connect, have a laugh, share ideas, support each other, and talk freely about the things that matter to us as Brits who love our country. We’ve poured hundreds of hours of time, energy, and real passion into building and moderating it over the past year-plus. It’s not just another group, it’s a home for a lot of us. Communities like this could be every bit as strong and vibrant as Facebook groups if they were given the same love. Look at how well FB groups still do, that’s because they’re properly supported in the algorithm and people can actually find and engage with them easily. Right now it feels like the genuine ones who’ve invested real heart and soul into these spaces are being punished because of the ones who abuse the system. And let’s be honest, it seems like part of the decision is that you can’t directly monetise Communities yet, so they’ve been quietly deprioritised with some magic switch a few months back. They were working fine until then. But here’s the thing: if you put Communities into the algo properly (like FB does with their groups), you could make money from them through better engagement, Premium perks, ads, or whatever fits the X vision. Instead, this decision risks pushing more people off the platform to build their communities elsewhere. Please, please, please reconsider, Elon. Don’t let the bad actors ruin it for everyone else. Genuine communities built with care are one of the best things about X, they bring people together in ways the main timeline sometimes can’t. Are Spaces next? As seems like it.
