People aren’t ready to hear this but black kids are forced to rob stores because food deserts exist and they don’t have money due to systemic racism so only way they can get the nutrients they need is to rob convenience stores at gunpoint. It’s science. Right wingers wouldn’t understand

I genuinely don't understand people like Bezos and Musk. If I had billions of dollars, I would just start fixing everything. Homeless veterans sleeping on the streets? Not on my watch. Hungry children going to bed with empty stomachs? Hell no. They could be making life better but instead choose to build spaceships and data centers to pump stocks and destroy the planet

@mcuban Okay, wrong. The government is there to enforce contracts between citizens. That means upfront pricing, licenses to practice ect.. let's not be daft. We know the government being OTHERWISE involved artificially inflates pricing. As it does continously in every market it 'solves'

Ok. Take government completely out of healthcare. No rules. No laws. No Medicare. No Medicaid. Hospitals, insurance companies, can do anything they want. What do they do ? If you were running any of the biggest insurance companies or hospitals, what would you do differently once gov was completely out of healthcare ?
Matthew Bednarik@BednarikMatt

@mcuban @GovBillLee Or just let the free market compete and get the government out of Healthcare. A free market would inevitably lead to lower costs for consumers.

I used to be a Massie defender, but he’s become a crank aligned with progressives who spends a lot of time talking about his conservative credentials while obstructing anything and everything except conspiracy theories.
Rich Lowry@RichLowry

NR’s editorial: We hope that the district’s voters on Tuesday will send Massie to a well-earned retirement, giving him the opportunity to join ally Marjorie Taylor Greene in airing their grievances and wild-eyed theories in the private sector. nationalreview.com/2026/05/thomas…

⚠️ OHIO: Board of Pharmacy Issues Brutal New Kratom Ruling The Ohio Board of Pharmacy has issued a new ruling that will outlaw most kratom products in Ohio beginning May 19th. This action goes far beyond targeting dangerous synthetic products. Under the Board’s notice, many common kratom products — including capsules, drinks, and other processed formats — are treated as illegal, even when they involve natural kratom. 📷 Read the Ohio Board of Pharmacy notice here: pharmacy.ohio.gov/documents/pubs… 📷 Read recent news coverage here: wfmj.com/news/ohio-penn… The AKA team is actively reviewing legal options to combat this emergency ruling, while also continuing the legislative effort to protect kratom consumers in Ohio. 📢 Ohio advocates: please watch for additional AKA action steps and be ready to respond quickly.

If capitalism is so great, why do corporations need so many tax breaks, subsidies, exemptions, grants, legal protections, bailouts, and trade protections? When citizens need these things, why is it socialism?

@idlepolitics @MattWalshBlog How do you, not a doctor, think I should "solve" my crippling adult onset panic disorder? Ive gone through doctors, pastors, therapists, everything except drugs. For years ive learned to deal with it, but it's crippling. How do I "fix" it?

@MattWalshBlog Yes!! This is vital for the future of humanity to understand. Every time we have tried to "cure" the mind/soul with drugs, we have created a dark dystopia. Every "treatment" psychiatry has given (see lobotomy, genital mutilation, etc.) has been proven barbaric within 20 years.

It has very recently become acceptable to express skepticism about anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds. The skeptics used to be angrily shouted down (I know from experience). But the skepticism is meaningless if it doesn’t go all the way and question the fundamental premise. These medications aren’t just “overprescribed.” They should never be prescribed at all. Anxiety and depression are not literal diseases, and any attempt to treat them as such is doomed to fail. We are witnessing the failure right now.

The problem is that no one wants to admit that anxiety, depression and other “mental deceases” are all self inflicted. When people don’t do anything; besides sitting around and thinking about how “sad” they are this is what happens. The sin of sloth is exactly where depression and anxiety come from.

Because nobody wants to gut social security, medicare, or any other non-discretionary spending. They’re roughly 59% of total government spending with interest at 14% and discretionary at just 27%. Effectively, the welfare state is bankrupting America. The right thing is to do is very, very politically unpopular.

The last time debt hit these levels, America had just helped win a World War. What's our excuse today? Runaway spending. Bloated budgets. A uniparty that refuses to say no. I've said no. I'll keep saying no. But I need Americans to demand better from their representatives. wsj.com/economy/u-s-de…

This is what a breakout from a multi year base produces. Lots of volatility along the way but these are just temporary setbacks. The base in silver is twice as large. We're having volatility now in metals but it also will be temporary. Still a long way to go before we need to worry about a secular top in metals.

The deal the world made with the U.S. was simple: You police the waterways, refrain from being an a$$hole, and the world will perpetually buy your debt. You also get cheap shit made for pennies on the dollar by third and second world slaves. The only reason the US hasn't plunged into depressions is because of foreign investors propping up equities and US treasuries. Now you can’t fulfill your end of the deal, but still want the world to buy your debt, fund your deficits, and send you cheap sh!t. Nope.

BREAKING: Secretary of War Pete Hegseth calls out America's allies: "The time for free riding is over." "America and the free world deserve allies who are capable, who are loyal, and who understand that being an ally is not a one way street." "We barely use the Strait of Hormuz as a country. Our energy doesn't flow through there, and we have plenty of energy." "We are not counting on Europe, but they need the Strait of Hormuz much more than we do, and might want to start doing less talking and having less fancy conferences in Europe and getting a boat."
