It's looking for a family connected to "a lead character." The requirements:

This is a federally filed casting document for a Warner Bros. feature film, not fan speculation. The working title is "Exodus." It's filming now in Fayetteville, Georgia.
We already covered how Gunn's Lanterns tagline signals Hal Jordan getting replaced. Now the Superman sequel is casting racially restricted family scenes for a "lead character" while white actors are explicitly excluded from consideration.
Hollywood lectures the rest of America about discrimination while filing casting calls that would be illegal in any other industry.
Why is Hollywood allowed to get away with this kind of discrimination?

Memorial University is actually being entirely and bluntly truthful here. There's nothing exceptional about this particular cluster hire. Every university in Canada has the same hiring policy, because that's the government's policy. If they accept funding for Canada Research Chairs, they have to stop hiring white men. This has been the case for years now, and it is not only compatible with but practically required by Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Canada's federal government refuses to allow Canadian universities to hire white Canadian men. It is that simple.
