🚨BREAKING: ANTHROPIC CEO JUST ENDED OPENAI @sama After getting blacklisted by Pentagon, Dario sits down and writes the most unhinged CEO memo in silicon valley history: >calls openai's pentagon deal "safety theater" >says trump admin hates them because they haven't "given dictator-style praise to Trump (while Sam has)" >names greg brockman's $25M trump super PAC donation by name says they supported AI regulation >"which is against their agenda" >says they "told the truth about AI policy issues like job displacement" THE PALANTIR EXPOSÉ: >reveals palantir's actual pitch to anthropic during negotiations >"you have some unhappy employees, you need to offer them something that placates them or makes what is happening invisible to them, and that's the service we provide" >palantir's pitch wasn't safety. it was CONCEALMENT >palantir offered a "classifier" to detect red line violations >dario: models get jailbroken, monitoring only works in a few cases "maybe 20% real and 80% safety theater" >says palantir offered openai the same package >openai accepted it >says Altman is "peddling narratives" to his own employees >calls openai employees "sort of a gullible bunch" due to "selection effects" >says the "attempted spin/gaslighting" isn't working on >the public or media but IS working on "some Twitter morons" rofl >says his main concern is making sure it doesn't work on openai employees too BTW near the end of negotiations the pentagon offered to accept ALL of anthropic's terms if they deleted ONE phrase: >"analysis of bulk acquired data" >anthropic refused >same surveillance clause pentagon said they didn't even want to do >meanwhile Altman told his employees: "you don't get to weigh in on that" 💀 ITS OVER. ANTHROPIC WON, DEAL WITH IT

Bloomberg's @markgurman says that even though Apple partnered with Google Gemini for Siri, they actually run their business on Anthropic. "Apple runs on Anthropic at this point. Anthropic is powering a lot of the stuff Apple's doing internally in terms of product development and a lot of their internal tools." "They have custom versions of Claude running on their own servers internally, too. This Google deal just came together a few months ago. They were not going to use Google. Apple actually was going to rebuild Siri around Claude. But Anthropic was holding them over a barrel. They wanted a ton of money from them, several billion dollars a year, and at a price that doubled on an annual basis for the next three years."

Every Sunday I go to Costco and look for people pulling up in $125,000 cars who stand in line for 22 minutes to return a $8.99 item. I’ll ask them where they work and then go long the stock. I’m up 270% this year.

@Yuchenj_UW I will pay any price if any of these guys can take data from a dead person that has never used a LLM before and make a digital chatbot out of them.

My wife told me this morning that my Gemini is smarter than hers. I suddenly realized it’s Gemini’s memory. It’s the first step toward personal intelligence: one brain (model weights), personalized chat. Fun fact: we will never die. We will live in AI’s “memory” forever. I talk to AI more than any human nowadays, and there’s no doubt it will have an unlimited context length. Product idea: when we physically die, but our family wants us to live on, obviously. They will pay OpenAI or Google or xAI a $200/month subscription fee to talk to a chatbot version of us. There’s a terminal at our grave. Our digital ghost talks.

2/ I also run 5-10 Claudes on claude.ai/code, in parallel with my local Claudes. As I code in my terminal, I will often hand off local sessions to web (using &), or manually kick off sessions in Chrome, and sometimes I will --teleport back and forth. I also start a few sessions from my phone (from the Claude iOS app) every morning and throughout the day, and check in on them later.

I'm Boris and I created Claude Code. Lots of people have asked how I use Claude Code, so I wanted to show off my setup a bit. My setup might be surprisingly vanilla! Claude Code works great out of the box, so I personally don't customize it much. There is no one correct way to use Claude Code: we intentionally build it in a way that you can use it, customize it, and hack it however you like. Each person on the Claude Code team uses it very differently. So, here goes.

Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas says the biggest threat to data centers is intelligence that runs locally on your device If models run on your own chip, they can watch your workflow and adapt via "test time training" without data ever leaving your computer "you own it. it's your brain"

The University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index shows that people with investment portfolios feel significantly better about the economy than those who do not own stocks, with sentiment among non-stockholders sinking to its lowest point since the university began collecting such data in 1998.

BREAKING: Nvidia is reportedly set to acquire Groq for $20B in cash, per Alex Davis of Disruptive (lead investor in Groq’s latest round). Groq raised $750M about three months ago at a ~$6.9B valuation with investors including BlackRock, Neuberger Berman, Samsung, Cisco, Altimeter, and 1789 Capital. Investors are expected to be told Wednesday, and the deal reportedly excludes Groq’s GroqCloud business. Nvidia has a lot of cash to spend, but is Groq worth the price?
