This might make more intuitive sense as a substantial difference than many other index selection subtleties; without a quantitative or correlative test of “substantially identical,” values and voting differences feel compelling

No clue how the IRS would handle that, but I think there's actually reasonable grounds as long as their Form N-PXs aren't also... substantially identical? :)

@_CampbellSoup__ @Betterment In general, we recommend Bitcoin not be a large part of your portfolio, because despite recent performance, it has little or no intrinsic value, and it's hard to feel confident that it'll have a positive long-term expected return.

@_CampbellSoup__ @Betterment No bitcoin exposure on the near term roadmap, but we're building more and more investment personalization (see the recent Climate Impact and Social Impact portfolios), so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

We like building products that can be out-performant, more convenient, and better integrated than the competition, and that often means building ourselves or integrating deep in the stack, rather than building on top of BaaS.

@Ramirez94Javier @Betterment Javier, thanks for the question. I don't think cash deposits are on our roadmap now. They're hard, because expensive to service. If you have a little cash, you could keep it and spend it. If you have to deposit a lot of cash regularly - there might be better services for you.

@dustinisatexan @Betterment Checks and Joint accounts are both in beta now for employees, so I'd expect them to roll out soon. Transfers between checking and all your other accounts have been made easier, and faster - you should be seeing that already, with more to come. Thanks for reaching out!
