@ataustinshouse @TheDougFiles Yes and all of that made it into RDR2 and will likely make it into GTA 6. You’re all forgetting the fact that GTA V and MP3 were developed alongside each other by different teams inside rockstar with different dev schedules and targets.

I was honestly skeptical early on, but the Dark Souls 2 Path Tracing mod seems amazing now.
It comes from one of the most talented modders, who also helps me solve modding mysteries from time to time.
If you play this, make sure to enable HDR, the implementation is from me.

All they had to do with Far Cry was bring back the sim elements from Far Cry 2 and make it a full on Bethesda-style RPG with multiple endings. They could even straight up steal the settlement mechanic from Fallout 4 for liberated outposts. People in charge are incompetent.

Another example of how terrible is the visuals to performance ratio of DLSS 4.5. Very bad path to follow.

@beyond_fps @Qyoon_FR No offense but would be nice to see a source. Sounds a bit odd because following that logic you’d have different RR presets for each resolution target. I do know there are a couple different RR presets but haven’t seen anything about them corresponding to res target.

@beyond_fps @Qyoon_FR I mean I guess that could happen but at that point they could only possibly justify it if it looked better than native. I guess they are kind going that direction with the DLSS 5 bs they’re trying to pull but I think 4.5 is not at that point, it’s a good middle ground.

@beyond_fps @Qyoon_FR There are usecases especially at the mid range XX70 tier where it makes sense if you want PT at 4K and looks very serviceable with 4.5.

@beyond_fps @Qyoon_FR From my personal experience in the games I’ve tested I have preferred 4.5 over 4.0 pretty much every time. And if you have the frametime budget you can totally run it at any resolution you want, but if it were really as bad as you say it is there would be no point anyway.

@juicermv @Qyoon_FR Because 4.5 is not even higher quality. It loses more detail in motion, suffers more with boiling, shimmering. It's better with disocclusion and usually resolves better stuff like hair, on top of coming with tons of sharpening.
And then you can only use it at 50% internal res

@beyond_fps @Qyoon_FR DLSS 4 is generally very expensive on pre ada tech due to literal hardware level differences. 4.5 is even higher quality so it’s more expensive than 4.0, that’s why it’s limited to high frametime use cases. It perfectly makes sense. They’re squeezing what they can from the tech.

@beyond_fps @Qyoon_FR M isn’t even for performance it’s for Ultra Performance which is 50% on each axis iirc. This isn’t cope when these models were designed around much higher frametime budgets and much lower base resolutions.

@juicermv @melokirstein Well at the moment, there's no reason to believe its a clone as its not been addressed etc in the cutscene or after. Right now it just screams reusing assets imo. Unless Capcom actually makes it canon ofc.
