CERN may be 70 years old, but it’s not too old for a music festival 🥳 #CERN70 Today’s #PhotoOfTheWeek brings you to four European music festivals CERN was present at during this summer: WOMAD, Colours of Ostrava, Smukfest and Rototom. The MAKERS team got to spend a glorious weekend at @WOMADfestival, where they helped festivalgoers of all ages design wind turbine blades to generate electricity.

Wonderful to see so much knowledge delivered by inspiring students (and staff!) from @UWEBristol @EngOurFutureUWE @WOMADfestival! #WOMAD2024

If you are at WOMAD tomorrow and Sunday, you can stop by the World of Physics area from 10am to lunchtime and use telescopes with @malcfairbairn and myself. We're listed in the line-up as Daytime Astronomy. Thanks to @kajsiebert for organizing.

Super excited to be back @WOMADfestival as part of the #BigBangCollective's World of Physics! Can't wait to catch up with @connie_potter1, @RogerOfCERN, @kajsiebert in a few weeks... So much to look forward to at #WOMAD2024, especially @EngOurFutureUWE's Makers and wind turbine building sessions and @alisongoldfrapp... @networkrail Road closures on York Road and delays on trains to and from #charingcross

The police just offered him water, and a @networkrail employee just handed out bottles of water to all the emergency services. Great to see everyone working peacefully together.
